Patch Notes 12/5/24

Economy Overhaul:
  • We’ve heard you and are making significant improvements to card acquisition.
  • We hope this set of changes lets players develop their collections more quickly, level up more cards, and have greater agency which cards they use in a deck, how they grow their collection, and which cards they upgrade.
    • Pulling a standard card cost reduced from 125 chroma to 40 chroma.
    • Increased drop rate of legendary/epic cards
  • Combination of ~3x more cards and increased drop rate of rarer cards means for a similar level of spend/engagement, you’ll see:
    • ~12x increase in epic cards
    • ~18x increase in legendary cards
  • Upgrading cards is cheaper at all levels. The reduction in cost is greatest at lower levels.
    • IE: 1->2 is much cheaper than before, and had a greater reduction in cost than 6->7.
  • As a thank you for sticking with Shardbound:
    • Double Rewards for Purchasers: If you’ve made purchases in the past, we’ve got your back! You’ll be credited with 2x the value of your previous purchases as a thank-you for your support.
    • In addition, a thank you package is available to all existing users to claim via the in-game news section.
  • Substantially increased the number of card pulls acquired per day through quest completion.
  • Royal Mark cost reduced on cards in store:
    • Common 1250 -> 400
    • Rare 5,000 -> 2,750
    • Epic 50,000 -> 8,500
  • Changed rewards for quests to better match how difficult that quest is to complete.
  • Simplified how shards work: 1 Shard = 1 pull from the corresponding loot pool.
  • Elemental Shards: 1 pull from any faction’s loot pool. Flexibility at its finest!
  • Standard Shards: 1 pull from the standard loot pool.
  • Radiant Shards: 1 pull from the premium loot pool for the best rewards.
  • Faction Coins: 1 pull from the loot pool that corresponds with that faction.
    • (Example: Steelsinger Coins let you pull from the red loot pool—perfect for honing your faction strategy!)
  • Currency Conversion: Don’t worry—your existing currencies will automatically adjust to match these new systems.
First Time User Experience Changes:
  • A new single tutorial mission replaces the existing 4 mission tutorial series.

  • Fixed an issue where some cards would inaccurately highlight in hand as though they were playable when they were not
  • Fixed an issue where Commanders were gaining incorrect Deck Power on upgrade
