Citadel: Forged With Fire News

Announcement - RCON Support Added

Attention Wizards!

You'll be pleased to know that RCON is officially supported in game. Check out the notes below for details on how to access remote console in Citadel and how to customize as needed:

Remote Console Overview

The remote console allows server administrators to execute server commands without being present in the game, they can load up the console in the web browser on their phone and quickly issue a ban, or announce a message to players.

To access your remote console, you will need to make sure your web server port is open. You will also want to make sure your router is routing the port to your machine correctly. The default remote console port and authentication info is as follows:

game.ini
[/Script/Citadel.RemoteConsole]
WebServerPort=8889
WebServerUsername=admin
WebServerPass=password

Do note that your game.ini may be blank and not contain the values above. That is intended, the defaults are bundled with the game server, you would only paste in alternative values to your game.ini if you wish to override these values.

Once you have configured your settings, restart your server. Companies such as G-Portal support remote console and already have the RCON port open and specified for you.

To connect, simply open a browser and enter [Server IP]:[RCON PORT]. If your server IP were 192.168.1.1 and the RCON port were 8889, you would enter 192.168.1.1:8889 into your web browser. This will bring you to a login screen, simply enter the credentials above. NOTE: It is highly recommended that you modify your login credentials and avoid unauthorized high level access to your server.

Once authenticated, you can use the “list” or “help” command to receive a list of all supported RCON commands.

Extending and Customizing the Console

The remote console supports the use of RESTful commands and the console source itself is able to be modified by the server owner. This means a server owner could create a UI with buttons if they prefer rather than entering commands into a console window.

To modify your console window source, navigate to:
[Server Directory]\Citadel\Content\WebServerRoot

Here you can find all of the html/javascript source currently used to interact with the game server. A custom, reskinned or redesigned remote console can be made, used and redistributed freely amongst the community.

We hope you enjoy!

Citadel: Forged with Fire is exiting Early Access on October 11, 2019!

We are extremely excited to announce that on Friday, October 11, 2019, Citadel will be exiting Steam Early Access and officially hitting full 1.0 launch!

To date, we have released nearly 100 patches and updates, tons of new content drops and some pretty huge expansions like the Forgotten Crypts and Citadel Reignited. Thousands of bugs have been fixed, tons of balance adjustments made, and many very fond memories made.

On behalf of the entire development team at Blue Isle Studios, we wanted to give a huge shout out to the community who have helps us along the way. Thank you for joining us on this Early Access adventure and providing your feedback. We have tried to be as open and transparent as we can be in this development process and are incredibly proud of the game as it stands today. But fear not, this is not the end of development on the game – far from it in fact.

Once we hit our 1.0 launch, we will continue to support the game well into the future with a bunch of additional content, server updates, and lots of additional fixes and improvements.

Please stay tuned in the coming weeks and months for more information on the roll-out. In the meantime, we’ll continue to fix bugs, adjust the balance and add as many improvements as we possibly can leading up to our launch.

Thank you!

- The Blue Isle Studios Development Team
