Update 0.3

Hello, Survivors!

We're excited to announce a major update to Achilles: Survivor, bringing new features and improvements based on your feedback. Let's dive into what's new!

Cursor-Aimed Attacks

You asked, we delivered! Now you can aim your attacks with precision using your cursor. Choose to aim only your Main Power or all Powers, switchable at any time. This feature gives you more control over your gameplay, allowing you to target enemies strategically rather than just attacking the nearest foes.



Transformation Sacrifice

Not thrilled with the available transformations? Now you can sacrifice a transformation to select an additional improvement instead. This new option provides greater control over your build, allowing for more diverse and personalized playstyles.



New enemies and Champions

Champions: Prepare to face new mid-bosses that will appear randomly throughout your runs. With their unique attack patterns, these Champions will put your skills to the test!

Regular Enemies: The battlefield has become more diverse with the addition of new regular enemies, adding fresh challenges to your survival runs.



Enhanced Transformations

We've noticed some transformations were less popular than others. In response, we've added 7 new transformations to existing powers, designed to have a more significant impact on gameplay. Get ready for some exciting new strategies!

New Powers

Two new powers join the fray: Battering Ram and Moirai's Thread. These additions will open up even more interesting ways to play the game. The more, the merrier!

"How to Play" Menu

While you could find game mechanics explanations on our Steam forum, we've now added a comprehensive "How to Play" section directly in the main menu for easy access to all the information you need.



New Achievements

Calling all completionists! We've added new achievements for those who love to collect them all. Challenge yourself to unlock these new milestones!

Hello Survivors!

Now let's jump to the new features and conten additions that we are working on.

New Features
  • Tips & Tricks Tab: We've adding a new section with helpful hints explaining various game mechanics. This addition aims to make the game more accessible to newcomers while providing valuable insights for veterans, ensuring everyone can fully enjoy the depth of our gameplay systems.
  • New Building - Shop: Construct a shop to spend your hard-earned gold on powerful upgrades during your runs. This new feature adds a strategic layer to resource management and provides more options for customizing your playstyle mid-run.
  • Mouse/Controller Aiming: You will be able to aim your powers using a mouse or controller for more precise control. This change responds to community requests and offers a more intuitive control scheme for players who prefer these input methods.
  • Power Card Tags: Power cards will display tags to help you better understand their effects and synergies. This improvement enhances clarity and assists players in making more informed decisions when selecting and combining powers.


New Content
  • New Powers: Unleash devastating new abilities against your foes. These additions expand the variety of gameplay options and encourage experimentation with new strategies.
  • New Transformations: Discover exciting new ways to evolve your existing powers. These transformations add depth to the progression system and offer more opportunities for creating unique builds.
  • New mid-bosses: Face off against formidable new challenges with unique special attacks. These new encounters are designed to keep the game fresh and test players' adaptability and skill.
  • New Enemies: Encounter fresh threats that will test your skills and strategies. By introducing new enemy types, we aim to diversify combat scenarios and keep players on their toes throughout their runs.


We're constantly working to improve Achilles: Survivor based on your feedback. These additions and changes are part of our ongoing commitment to refine the game's balance, increase replayability, and provide a more engaging experience for all players.

Hotfix 0.2.3

We're excited to announce that Hotfix 0.2.3 for Achilles: Survivor is now available!



This update addresses several issues and introduces some new features to enhance your gaming experience. Here's a breakdown of the key changes (There is a lot, so brace yourselves!) :

New Features


  • Screen shake can now be disabled in the settings
  • FPS limiter in the settings
  • Overlords now have their name displayed under the health bar
  • Hardware Cursor


Updated


  • Improved the game’s optimization
  • Rebuilding a destroyed structure is now quicker
  • Enlarged the areas in which enemy kills are counted during special events
  • You can now see locked survivor’s class and name
  • Visually improved the Ominous Visages structure
  • Achievement icons have no numbers
  • Improved readability of whether you’re able to buy an improvement/build a structure or not
  • Improved readability of damage received by the player
  • Improved pickup readability
  • Improved location’s objectives visibility in the pause and end screens
  • Fully removed EOS from the game’s files



FIXES
  • Corrected notification popups queuing - there should be a lot less freezes on transformation screen
  • Favors should no longer reset after crash and game restart
  • Fixed the possibility of getting stuck inside a structure after building it
  • Power Damage improvements now correctly impact critical damage
  • Power Range improvements now work correctly
  • The game no longer can switch languages after a restart
  • Fixed spider explosions deal damage near the player instead of the spider
  • General Striking Speed improvements are now impacting Deadeye Arrow as well
  • Fixed a crash on game startup
  • Fixed a crash on finishing a location
  • Fixed a crash on exit to main menu
  • Fixed a rare crash while fighting Hector
  • Shield throw now doesn’t get as far away from the player and targets enemies correctly
  • Closing a basement can no longer display two identical rewards
  • Made Rifts spawn earlier in the run
  • Improved text readability on improvement cards
  • Improved navigation and responsiveness of the powers' popup in pause menu
  • Defeating Paris no longer displays an empty achievement
  • Fixed Achilles’ starting power sometimes dealing damage multiple times in one hit
  • Corrected the game’s version display
  • Fixed status effects sometimes not being visible on the enemy
  • Highlighting of powers impacted by an improvement now correctly disappears when using the reroll button
  • Fixed the Forge structure adding a second passive effect
  • Removed passive effects from the Mine structure
  • Fixed an invisible rock in the Greece realm on low/medium settings
  • Improved class and name readability for both locked and unlocked survivors
  • Corrected Alectryon’s displayed class
  • Fixed Tantal possibly having 555 luck if the favor was maxed
  • Localization for texts that were missing it, like the Dodge indicator, key binding settings, and more
  • Fixed some texts not fitting on screen in different languages

Hotfix 0.2.2

Hello, Survivors!

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for our game during this Early Access period!



We're thrilled to see so many of you enjoying the mythological world we've created. Our development team is working tirelessly to ensure your experience is as smooth as possible. As soon as we learned about the Steam Cloud save synchronization issues, it immediately became our top priority, which is why we were able to deliver this fix so quickly.

We're pleased to announce that Hotfix 0.2.2 is now live, addressing this problem. After installing this update, your saves should automatically synchronize to the most recent version across all your devices using Steam Cloud.

Please note that in some cases, Steam may detect inconsistencies between saves on different machines. If prompted, simply choose the most up to date save file to continue your progress.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused. Rest assured, we're actively working on other aspects of the game based on your valuable feedback.

Hotfix 0.2.1

Hello Survivors!

First of all, a huge thank you to everyone playing "Achilles: Survivor" in Early Access! Your feedback on the Steam forums and Discord has been invaluable, and we truly appreciate your support and engagement.

One of our top priorities has been improving the game's performance. With this hotfix, we’ve implemented a solution that enhances stability and improves overall smoothness. This is just the beginning—performance optimization will continue as we refine the game further.

Shortly after launch, we noticed that some players with saves from the demo were unable to start the game. Reacting quickly was a top priority for us, and we managed to release a fix within just two hours after launch to resolve the issue.

This update is a rework of memory management for enemies. The previous system proved to be inefficient in later stages of the game, leading to performance drops. With this new approach, enemies are now handled more efficiently in memory, reducing unnecessary strain on the system and improving overall gameplay smoothness.

What’s included in this hotfix:


  • Improved overall game performance and stability depends on specific hardware and graphic settings average FPS increased by 15-40% (typically around 25-30%), 1% low FPS increased by 20-90%, ensuring smoother gameplay in demanding scenarios.
  • Fixed a possibility of getting stuck in the Trojan Horse after building it
  • Fixed a possibility of the game freezing while choosing transformations


Of course, this is just the beginning of our improvements. Early Access is a time for us to implement as many fixes, optimizations, and enhancements as possible. Our initial focus is on performance and bug fixes, after which we’ll shift towards developing additional content for the game. However, we want to ensure that every run delivers as much enjoyment as possible without unnecessary frustration caused by technical issues.
