When I was getting close to releasing Intravenous 1 back in 2021, I was running out of money and time, and so I had to cut various corners to finish the game.
Ultimately, the game ended up in a worse state than it could have been, with various ideas left unimplemented due to time & budget constraints.

Various new features present in Intravenous 2 were things I was thinking of adding to the first game, but couldn't.
During the development of Intravenous 2 I got the idea of remastering the campaign of the first game, as I thought it would be really cool to be able to play the original with all the improvements of the second game.

This Remaster DLC is a perfect opportunity to do just that and even go beyond, as the campaign has:

  • all the new and improved gameplay mechanics of Intravenous 2 and is adapted to the gameplay design of the sequel
  • an updated soundtrack with new tracks for levels that didn't have their own unique tracks
  • updated level layouts
  • completely re-done localization
  • improvements to dialogue

All these changes are done to bring the level of quality of the original to the level of quality you'd expect from Intravenous 2.

This Remaster is as much a remaster as it is Intravenous 1 2.0 - it's in a state I wish I could have released the original back in 2021.
I hope you will have a great time with it, as I had a lot of fun preparing this campaign remaster!

P.S. try playing the original after this - it just won't feel the same anymore!

Sincerely,
Roman Glebenkov

Version 1.3.0 - 'Mercenarism' Short Campaign

Hey folks!

Update 1.3.0 is here and, as promised, it brings the short campaign 'Mercenarism' to the game.
This is the same campaign that was used in the "Intravenous 2: Mercenarism" prologue project that was available before the game was officially released.
It consists of two gameplay levels repurposed from the main campaign of Intravenous 2.
The levels themselves were not altered, so this short campaign will be rather easy to anyone that has already played and finished the main campaign of Intravenous 2, and also serves as a little piece of history: the levels used are the same levels which are in the full game, which were merely repurposed for the "Mercenarism" project. This way you can compare the final version levels to how they were before the game launched!

Aside from that, the IV1 Remaster DLC is going live on March 3rd, in just 2 days! It features an updated soundtrack with new tracks for levels that did not have their own unique music, updated levels, and the overall game design adapted to what's seen in Intravenous 2.
If you've wanted to play the original with all the improvements and additions of the sequel - this is the perfect way to do so.
