Thank You, Early Access Pilots!

As we get ever closer to the launch of War Robots: Frontiers on March 4, we want to take a moment to thank our Early Access players for their invaluable support, feedback, and loyalty over the past two years. We could not have done this without you!

You played a unique role in shaping the game’s journey and making it what it is today, from participating in playtests, to asking questions in Dev Q&A sessions, to creating content and forming your own communities based around War Robots: Frontiers. We can’t thank you enough for your continued support!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Before War Robots: Frontiers launches on March 4, we have some housekeeping to do. Check out all the details on maintenance, the end of Early Access, and progress wipes towards the end of the article.
Past & Present: Your Feedback, Your Playtime, Your Changes
Over the course of Early Access, the team has been hard at work improving the mechanics of the game and balancing gameplay, to the betterment of the overall player experience.

These are just some of the changes and improvements we've made thanks to your support and feedback:
UI/UX Overhauls
We’ve redesigned the Hangar and Workshop to make it easy and intuitive to construct War Robots and optimize your Drop Team for battle. We hope players enjoy making and trying out lots of unique builds. The UI/UX team also deployed a large update in January to improve the clarity, usability, and intuitiveness of interfaces, features, and the overall player experience. We are still actively listening to feedback from players and will pay close attention to this part of the game, adjusting it if necessary.

“We’re grateful for how our team worked together to rework the entire user interface, introducing a fresh new style and making meaningful improvements to the Robot construction experience,” says Parisa Zhong, UI/UX Director for War Robots: Frontiers.
Reworked Map Layouts & Visuals
A thrilling tactical experience is at the heart of what we’re trying to deliver with War Robots: Frontiers. Thanks to the help of our intrepid Early Access Pilots, we identified and developed opportunities and metas to ensure every battle is unique, fair, and rich with tactical possibilities.
Improved Robot Movement & Animations
We want Pilots to feel the weight and mechanical power of War Robots at their fingertips. Early Access gave us the time and feedback we needed to finetune the look and feel of piloting for maximum immersion.
New Social Features
Coordinating with your team in War Robots: Frontiers is critical and could make all the difference between victory and defeat. The addition of Friend Lists, voice chat, and in-battle pings broadens your ability to communicate, put together a team, and work on your tactics on the fly. We can’t wait to see your squads in action!

There’s so much more that we can barely cover it all, from balancing updates to all the new content and weapons you’ll see in the release version! What’s your favorite addition or improvement to War Robots: Frontiers so far? Let us know on Discord, because your feedback will continue to shape the game in the future, too!

[p]
[p]Since day one of Early Access, you, the players have been the driving force behind every change you’ll see when War Robots: Frontiers officially launches. Each Dev Q&A gave us invaluable insight into areas we needed to improve. Your passion is what fueled us throughout Early Access, and we could not be more grateful for the dedication and support you've shared with us. We hope we’ve created the game you so rightfully deserve. Thank you![/p]
 • Jennifer Cacheux-Girling (Executive Producer)
[/p]
[p]
[p]You have influenced the development of War Robots: Frontiers much more than you can imagine. You are not guinea pigs or alpha testers—no. You are developers, just as we are. I was stunned by the level of detail in your proposals, influencing the design of the game. You understand the game so deeply that sometimes there were no edits or corrections needed on your proposals—they went into production straight away. You always provided a reality check when we needed it, and helped us to focus on the most important aspects of the game. Above all, I want to thank your immense level of creativity, which always inspired us. We are building a great game together. Thank you.[/p]
 • Vladimir Krasilnikov (Creative Director)
[/p]
[p]
[p]It’s been an amazing experience getting to know this community over the last two years, getting sniped the second I spawn, losing every 1v1, and watching my entire Hangar vanish before I can even summon my Titan. But seriously, you’ve been incredible. Your passion and feedback have shaped War Robots: Frontiers into what it is today. Early Access was just the proving ground. Now, the real fun starts, and I can’t wait! See you on the Wild Ten, Pilots![/p]
 • Keith Aston (Community Lead)
[/p]

[p]
[p]From the very beginning, our goal has been to create an experience that feels intuitive, immersive, and truly rewarding. Your feedback and support during early access has been invaluable in shaping the game, refining every detail, and making it even better. On behalf of the entire UX/UI team, thank you for being part of this journey. We can’t wait for you to see what’s next![/p]
 • Parisa Zhong (UI/UX Director)
[/p]
[p]
[p]Even the most talented designer can't make good content without its players, and our players are so loyal and knowledgeable on literally everything, from the feeling of weapons' impact to how wide the specific passages should be to enable more tactical gameplay. Kudos to everyone who's been supporting us during Early Access—we wouldn't be here without you.[/p]
 • Vasily Skobelev (Lead Level Designer)
[/p]
[p]
[p]Throughout Early Access, your passion has been our fuel! Your insights and creativity have shaped every facet of War Robots: Frontiers, and you're the reason we do what we do. As we gear up for launch, your influence will help us spread the word and grow our community. Let's keep rocking this together![/p]
 • Sólveig Gunnarsdóttir (Senior Brand Manager)
[/p]

[p]
[p]We’re grateful for all the feedback and your active interest in the game—it greatly helped us fine-tune the progression! We put great effort into making the in-game economy enjoyable for our players, and we’ll keep listening to your discussions in Discord![/p]
 • Ivan Shugaev (Senior Game Designer)
[/p]
[p]
[p]Seeing the War Robots: Frontiers community come together and enjoy the game, as well as provide invaluable and extensive feedback has been incredible to see during the Early Access period. I cannot wait to see the interesting ideas and concepts that the community comes up with next. Catch you on the Wild Ten![/p]
 • Niki Hetherington (Producer)
[/p]
[p]
[p]Over the last two years, our game has changed so much, and we’ve been on this journey together with the players. When newcomers experience the maps and customization from the start, only the Early Access players will remember how different the game once was—and it was your feedback that led to many changes and improvements. We look forward to players continuing to explore the game, discover new things, and share ideas with the developers—that’s essential to making the game even better![/p]
 • Aleksandr Novikov (Lead 3D Artist)
[/p]

[p]
[p]A heartfelt thank you to each of you—to everyone who stayed connected with us on Discord, wrote reviews on Steam, filled out surveys, and participated in interviews. Thanks to those who were with us every day and those who joined during open days. Your interest in the game has brought us here, to the launch. We’re getting ready to welcome new players, but you will always be a special part of our community. And yes, we’re already planning many activities, diverse rewards, and future events![/p]
 • Valeriya Tsygankova (Publishing Producer)
[/p]
[p]
[p]Bringing the world of War Robots: Frontiers to life has been an incredible journey, and seeing you explore it as we are building it has been even more rewarding. Your feedback, criticism and passion push us to make this game the best it can be. Huge thanks for being part of this adventure - we're just getting started![/p]
 • Eric Cochonneau (Art Director)
[/p]
[p]
[p]Thank you all for playing our game—to everyone who endured matches with bots, overpowered weapons, and scatterguns. To those who left comments, debated in threads, and discussed updates. See you after the release, and let’s continue making the game better together.[/p]
 • Aleksey Kozlov (Lead Game Designer)
[/p]
The Future Frontier
Navigating Your Hangar, Workshop & Warehouse

Eyes up, Pilots! You already know how to build a War Robot. Next, let’s explore some of the interfaces you can find via the main menu in-game so you can hit the battlefield with the perfect War Robot.

There are three places you need to get familiar with—Hangar, Workshop, and Warehouse. In each of these, you can create Robot Builds, store Modules, and scrap unwanted equipment to obtain Salvage.
HANGAR
The Hangar is where your active Robots are stored between intense battles. Your Drop Team—made up of six Robots (including a Titan)—can also be found here.

Add or remove War Robots—including battle-ready Factory Builds and Custom Builds—at your leisure to optimize your Drop Team!
WORKSHOP
The Workshop is the hub of your building activity. This is where you craft your Custom Build Robot using Modules (such as Torsos, Chassis, Shoulders, etc.), craft new Modules, or scrap unwanted equipment to earn Salvage (which you can then turn into new parts and upgrades).

This is also where you add Gear (equipment that unlocks tactical abilities) to your Robots, including Cycle, Supply, and Core Gear

Cycle Gear is a Module that has a cooldown on its abilities. Supply Gears offer consumable abilities. Core Gears are more unique, and come permanently fitted in a War Robot’s Torso Module.

This is also where you can inject personality into your Robot by adding cosmetic items like Paints, Wraps, Decals, Stickers, and Wear & Tear to jazz up your war machine.
WAREHOUSE
The Warehouse is where you store spare Modules, Pilots, and rewards you’ve earned—think of this as your inventory. Browse through Weapons and Pilot Talents at your leisure to plan your next perfect Build.

Now you know how and where to build your dream Drop Team—what are you waiting for, Pilot?

Creator Spotlight: Predator

Every War Robots: Frontiers content creator is unique, and we want to shine a light on them and their fantastic footage. Welcome to the first Creator Spotlight with Predator

You may know Predator already—he’s active on YouTube and has his own Discord server dedicated to all things War Robots.

We caught up with Predator and grilled him about everything from his channel name, to invaluable advice for new War Robots players, to his silly sign-offs.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Q: How long have you been streaming and creating content?

A: Since 2016. I started watching gaming content online and thought “why not upload some of my own gameplay?”

Q: How long have you been playing video games and what is your favorite genre? Do you remember the first video game you ever played?

A: I’ve been playing games for probably 17 years. My earliest memories of playing video games were on my Nintendo Game Boy Advance. I think I can remember playing Pokémon-related games on it. I was always really into single-player games because I didn't have any ‘online’ subscriptions until much later.

Q: What inspired your channel name ‘Predator’?

A: The movie franchise! When I was younger my Dad showed me the Predator and Alien movies and I instantly thought it was the coolest thing ever. Then when I started playing games, I used that as my gamer tag.

Q: What made you want to start creating content for War Robots: Frontiers, and what do you like most about the game?

A: I’ve played War Robots since 2016 and the first battle I played in War Robots: Frontiers was pretty shocking (in a good way). I’ve played a lot of different styles of mech games, but I’ve honestly never seen a PvP mech game with this level of realism and detail. My favorite part about the game currently is how the game looks and the endless build options.

Q: You’ve tested a lot of Builds on your channel—which is your favorite and why?

A: The first one that comes to mind is the 5x Orkan Siren hybrid. There's nothing more fun to me than locking down an enemy mech with freeze, then unloading 5 Orkan rockets!

Q: Do you have a favorite game mode?

A: Currently, I really like Warp Rush. The idea of beacons isn't that exciting in theory, but in battle, it adds so much more strategy and excitement—having to think about enemy bots, the time, and the beacon bar.

Q: What advice would you give to new players joining War Robots: Frontiers?

A: I would definitely start learning about different builds and what's most effective for what you want to do. Also just playing a lot of battles really helps you understand abilities and how the Robots move—which is a huge advantage, especially when it comes to managing fuel!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Q: Are you into the Mech genre or did you just vibe with War Robots: Frontiers as a standalone game?

A: I have gotten into the Mech genre more recently. It started with War Robots in 2016, but since then I’ve tried other PvP mech games and single-player mech games on PC.

Q: What do you do when you’re not gaming—do you have any other hobbies?

A: I’ve always been into keeping exotic animals and reptiles so I enjoy doing that. As well as going to the gym!

Q: How have you felt watching the game evolve throughout Early Access?

A: It’s been really cool to see the game throughout Early Access and how responsive the devs have been. From update to update, there have been a lot of improvements and when players highly request certain changes or improvements—it has happened.

Q: You usually end your videos by saying random words like “See you next time, Water Puppies, Rainbows” What inspired your sign-off?

A: Haha! Funnily enough, when I started using a face cam for War Robots videos years ago, I didn’t know what to say when ending the video so I just started blabbing about the first thing that came to my mind—and that often involved random foods!

You can get in touch with Predator via Discord, and catch him on his YouTube channel to check out all his latest videos.

The Wild Ten needs more Pilots like you to join the fight. If you stream or make videos for War Robots: Frontiers, then you need to join the next evolution of the MY.GAMES Content Creator Program!

Robot Classes: How Do Robots Work?

Heads up, Pilots! We’ve already taught you how to construct a War Robot, but let’s dig a little deeper into what makes them tick (tick, boom!).

Every Robot you create has its own Class—a distinction that describes how it should best be utilized on the battlefield. There are four unique Classes, and a Mixed Class (for those with a penchant for the peculiar).
FLANKER
A Flanker is well-equipped to engage enemies in hit-and-run attacks, veering off from the main course the rest of the team takes. While their allies distract, Flankers can ambush unsuspecting foes with their speed and maneuverability.

Phantom is a short-range Flanker, capable of rushing the enemy, causing havoc, then teleporting to safety to restore shields before repeating the operation.

DEFENDER
A Defender supports allies and acts as a bullet sponge. This Class excels at evading enemy projectiles and remaining strong in prolonged, close-range battles.

Bulwark is a Defender War Robot—self-sufficient and easy to handle.

ASSAULT
Assault Robots are good all-rounders–well-armored, versatile, and capable of putting more than a few dents in enemy hulls.

Bulgasari is a prime example of an Assault War Robot. Its high mobility means it can effectively counter flankers, and chase tacticians out of inaccessible positions.

TACTICIAN
Tactician Robots support from high ground using their large fuel capacity to scout further afield to find ideal sniper positions.

Harpy is a Tactician War Robot, supporting allies by picking off enemies at long-range. It’s able to escape close combat quickly thanks to its fuel stores.

MIXED
Mixed Class Robots don't fit into any one particular Class. Assembled from Modules of different Classes, they combine all the advantages and disadvantages of their components. Create your own unique build in the Workshop and see what works for you!
