There's nothing quite like tearing things down in Teardown

Remember the first time you brought a house down in Red Faction: Guerrilla? It felt like the start of something new. The beginning of an era of games that would be more tangible, more physical, and more breakable than ever before. Of course, that didn't happen. Games largely focussed on making static scenes look even shinier with sharper textures and ray-traced lighting. But thanks to a small Swedish developer, we have a window into that delightfully destructive alternate world – and believe me when I say Teardown's window shatters very nicely indeed...

Now with object spawning!

Hello everyone!

It is time again for another Teardown update. Version 0.9.5 is filled with a lot of bug fixes, improvements and awesome new features.

Highlighted changes:
  • It is now possible so spawn vehicles and other objects into the game. This transforms how the game plays in sandbox mode, since you can now mix and match content from different mods into the same level.
  • We have improved the gamepad support and the game is more accessible with a gamepad.
  • Shotgun now behaves more like a shotgun.
  • Screen Recorder built-in mod to capture no-lag movie clips so you can show off your latest creations.
  • General stability fixes
  • General improvements to the maps and the campaign

Please see the change log in the game for a more detailed overview. The changelog is available in the bottom right corner of the main menu.

We hope you will like it!

Garry's Mod 2 is here, and it's called Teardown

Teardown is a bloody great heist game. More than just a showcase of developer Dennis Gustaffson's impressive destruction and rendering tech, Teardown masterfully frames that carnage in a series of sledgehammer puzzles—forcing you to use limited tools to carve an optimised path through each stage. December's Part 2 Update went even further, using two new maps to broaden the possibility space of Teardown's heists with killer robots and missions that tap into its dense physics simulations in bold new ways...

Destroy-anything indie game Teardown now has a complete campaign

Teardown was a hit with the community before it even launched, thanks to a series of Twitter videos showcasing the game's impressive freeform destruction. The game hit Steam Early Access just over a year ago, and it's still not quite ready for 1.0 - but there's a whole lot more of it to enjoy now, as the devs have completed the campaign.

This week's 0.9 release introduces the second half of the campaign. "For the past year, we have worked hard to bring you the completion of the Teardown campaign," the devs explain in the announcement. "And we are pleased to bring you an update packed to the brim with exciting stuff. New locations, new mission types, new tools, new characters, robots (!), and a whole lot of mayhem!"

From here, the devs are set to "dive into the final stretch leading to the 1.0 release". If you want to check out the expanded campaign and dive in before that final launch, the game is currently 20% off, bringing the price down to $15.99 / £14.79 / €15.99.
