Gather around the campfire and let us tell you a ghost story, Universe Architects.

It’s just us in the dark and dreary woods. But, are we alone? There are monsters of all kinds looming in the shadows, waiting for the perfect opportunity to frighten… or worse. BOO! Were you scared? Don’t worry; while some people have claimed that these creatures exist, they aren’t actually proven to be real. That’s why they’re called cryptids. While we’re safe for now, that doesn’t mean you should stop looking over your shoulder.

Grab your flashlights and torches. It’s time to seek out the uncanny, the insidious, and the unfathomable in Cell To Singularity’s first-ever Mini Explore Event:

Explore: Cryptids — Face Your Fears
It’s ALIVE (and Mini Size)
This Explore Event is worth celebrating! This is the premiere of a new kind of event: the Explore Mini. Explore Minis are almost the same as Explore Events, only more compact. There will be fewer nodes and one badge to unlock in a shorter period of time. This allows us to feature fascinating topics that we might not have otherwise covered. Don’t let the size fool you: the content is just as satisfying.

We’re curious to know your feedback on Mini Explore Events! Let us know in the comments.
What Was That?!
Is something there…? It’s probably just the wind or a tree branch tapping against the window. Join Semblance as she explores the tales of mischief makers and monsters hiding in the shadows.
 • Expose three chilling generators from their tenebrous domain: the Insidious, Uncanny and Unfathomable.
 • Fend for yourself against the trickery of 23 spooky Trait Nodes.
 • Rest your weary head and stoke the animated flames of The Campfire node.
 • Are those shadows in the background moving? Maybe I’m imagining things…
Trick or Treat
Discover every creepy cryptid in the event and uncover what’s behind the badge’s silhouette. As a Mini Explore Event, there will only be one badge to earn with a 5% boost.
Something is Afoot
If researching cryptids all year round is your thing, we have just the Augmentations for you. Embrace the strange with two new prizes in the Augmentation Store.
 • Add Bigfoot to the Land garden. Can you find him wandering around?
 • Show off your love for the unknown with the Cryptids Icon Pack.

Explore: Cryptids — Face Your Fears is available to play on Steam, Android and iOS today at 11:10am ET until 10/21/2024 at 10:50am ET.

If you miss the chance to catch the cryptids, they’ll be back in the simulation for one more spooky-tacular round on 10/28/2024 - 10/31/2024. Now we wait for daybreak. While we seek refuge in this totally safe cabin in the middle of nowhere, let’s take a moment to share what else is on the Cells docket.

Alongside cryptids comes our favorite extinct phantoms. The Dodo Ghost Hunt is back for another year of haunting in the simulation! Some new ones have even appeared in different hiding spots, leaving 70 dodo ghosts in total to be found from 10/15/2024 - 11/01/2024. Can you find them all?

A raven is like a writing desk, and we encourage you to put that writing desk to good use because the Ode to a Black Contest is still open for entries. First place will take home a chilling 2,000 Darwinium with a 90-Day Infinity Pass. Read more about contest guidelines and rules here. Good luck to all who enter!

Missed last week’s livestream? While we shared an inside look at Explore: Cryptids – Face Your Fears, we also showed some of the development process of Beyond E26 (with a few E27 spoilers). Check it out to get some free Darwinium!

With Ancient Civilization now wrapped up, our team is looking ahead and focused on closing out the year with a couple more exciting updates. Keep your eyes peeled on our socials to find out more in the coming months.

Until the next update– stay cellular! Wait… what’s that behind you?
