Our latest concept art reveal brings you face-to-face with Captain Lardus Longsaddle, the grizzled and unwavering captain of Otari’s guard. Whether you see him as a dedicated shield for the people or a hardened enforcer of law and order, Lardus is a name known by every citizen and adventurer alike.

[h2]Who is Captain Lardus?[/h2]

Lardus Longsaddle is a seasoned warrior who was a veteran of Absalom's city guards who "retired" to Otari a decade ago. He’s not just the captain of the guard—he is the law. He may be a grump, while not as rigid as some would expect, Lardus has a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to dealing with threats, whether they emerge from the town’s underbelly or creep from the dark maw of Gauntlight Keep.

While he trusts in steel and strategy, Lardus is no fool—he knows Otari’s safety can’t always rest in the hands of his guards alone. He keeps a watchful eye on the adventurers stirring trouble (or solving it), though his patience for reckless heroics has its limits.

As the battleground of warring factions—the subterranean Morlocks, the scavenging Mitflits, and the ever-hungry Ghouls—this area pulses with intrigue and conflict, offering players a chance to shape its fate. Will you side with a faction, manipulate their rivalries, or carve your own path through this treacherous domain?

Deep within the Abomination Vaults lies the Laboratory Floor—a domain of dark experimentation and arcane horrors. Here, the Seugathis continue their grotesque fleshwarping research, resisting the encroaching devils that threaten their stronghold. The remnants of ancient gladiatorial games linger in abandoned beast pens and bloodstained armories, hinting at the brutal past of Gauntlight Keep. Players will face seugathi fleshwarpers, twisted aberrations, and infernal invaders while uncovering forbidden knowledge and treasures of immense power. Will you dismantle the Seugathis’ twisted experiments, negotiate with their leaders, or become entangled in the infernal conflict threatening to consume this floor?

[h2]Playtest Weekend Feedback[/h2]

At the beginning of December 2024, our team provided an updated game build with new content for playtesting. This one introduced key improvements and new features, reflecting months of work and your feedback from earlier phases.

We brought backers and players into the newest iteration to put it through its paces. Their feedback has provided us with valuable insights and we are already working on key elements that were mentioned, including:

• an improved quest tracking system;
  
• better targeting for ranged attacks;
  
• an enhanced minimap;
  
• additional lore references;
  
• randomized elements, such as monster encounters and dungeons.
  

To everyone who participated: thank you for your time, enthusiasm, and insights. Your contributions bring us closer to delivering the ultimate Pathfinder adventure! To those who were not invited, do not worry: new playtest opportunities are drawing near.
