Beloved Battleblock Theater getting a new Steam update after a decade

Hearing about Battleblock Theater is my Ratatouille food critic moment. I haven't thought about it in nigh on a decade, but seeing Hatty Hattington's square head and crying eyes takes me back to a much simpler time. Games dared to be weird, colorful, and embraced couch co-op in a way modern PC games typically don't. Sure, you can find each of those elements across countless releases these days, but how often do all three come together as one? Just thinking about Battleblock Theater has me wanting to jump back in, so it's lucky then that there's a massive Steam discount and impending free update, isn't it?

A BattleBlock Theater update for Steam IS COMING SOON????

Calling all prisoner friends and feline security to return back to the theater! The show must go on, yes?

This free update will include:

Enhanced rendering – no more crunchy compression and much higher resolution!
Lightning fast frame rates, limited only by your monitor’s capability!
Higher audio bitrates for delicious sound!
Various bug fixes and overall enhancements, hooray!
Support for more controller types!

These changes could only mean one thing, right? We are preparing BattleBlock Theater for a modern console release, oh happy day! Which ones? When? TBA! NYAHHH!
