Holiday update changelog

Hi everyone!

We pushed another set of fixes and finally added the achievements as well :)
As mentioned before, we pushed a major part of the update already earlier this week already. However we attached a "full" changelog below for those coming from the big annoucement post.

In case you have not heard it already:
We’re excited to announce the release of our Supporter Pack and official Soundtrack! 🎉
This pack is our way of saying thank you to our amazing community. Inside, you’ll find exclusive new skins, beautiful wallpapers and most importantly, a huge dose of our gratitude and love! ❤️

Concerning the new input-system, we heard that some players had issues with they controllers. If it's not fixed in this version, you can still revert to the original system by using
++ --noSDL
as launch parameter. Nevertheless we'd love to fix all bugs so let us know if you have issues (preferably on https://discord.gg/unrailed ).

- Improvement: Commodities on ghosted wagons are drawn opaque now
- Bug fix: It was sometimes possible to get infinite cartridges in reward or extreme stations
- Bug fix: Fixed multiple situations where to bot could stall
- Bug fix: Several wagons could destroy resources on a very high level (eg crafter)
- Bug fix: Collector not collecting anymore on very high levels
- Bug fix: Kill no animals often fails when transitioning to a new biome
- Bug fix: Ghost engine choo-choo triggered multiple times when dashed into it
- Bug fix: Giving milk or other things to other players was broken
- Bug fix: Bot could not throw to a wagon that was not accessible
- Bug fix: Analog sticks should work again for scrolling the menu

General:

- New: Santa Hat and Gingerbread Skin added and Snowfigures appear randomly in endless and unlock both (during winter season only)
- New: Winter themed main menu track (during winter season only)
- New: New input system allowing for up to 8 connected controllers but fixing also not recognized controllers and other input related issues
- New: Ghost engine added it has a fixed number of wagons but increases the wagons’ extension capacity by one and plus one additionally for each two biomes
- New: You can now preview skins or items you have not bought yet
- New: New soundtrack during the Credits
- Balance: Toy engine now automatically unlocked with the engine foundry (the steam engine now will only be displayed once the building is unlocked)
- Balance: Crocodiles have health 9 in instead of 3
- Improvement: Commodities on ghosted wagons are drawn opaque now
- Improvement: Upload button in replay menu (to re-upload if the upload failed after crashing the engine)
- Improvement: Jukebox track titles added
- Improvement: General performance improvements (reduced memory allocations)
- Bug fix: The last two Junkyard tracks were never unlocked in the jukebox
- Bug fix: Waterbar and loading bar of wagon printer overlap
- Bug fix: Cartridge toaster and wagon printer sometimes did not yield a reward when used in combination with the supercharger
- Bug fix: Run-Id on the replay screen now correct
- Bug fix: Sandworm spawn-area hit & debris sounds were missing
- Bug fix: Lagging issues when a checkpoint has been loaded (especially with toy engine)
- Bug fix: Giving milk or other things to other players was broken
- Bug fix: Kill no animals often fails when transitioning to a new biome

- Improvement: Engine speed independent of players and the speed can be changed via placing the speed tracks on the engine (similar to the cartridges on spawn points or extensions on wagons) and a countdown has been added

Bot
- Improvement: Bot should be more precise when avoiding explosives (less walking back and forth, waiting longer)
- Improvement: Bot takes tracks from crafter only until level 3 in Wagon-Mode
- Improvement: Bot can now get water in badlands
- Improvement: Bot can build bridges in badlands
- Improvement: Bot can destroy moles, webs, bones or canyon mountains if they’re on the marked path to reach the mining goal
- Improvement: Bot automatically extinguishes the train in wagon mode if nothing else to do
- Improvement: Bot can now handle the supercharger, collector, magnet, compactor, transformer, carriage, slot and brake & piggy & wagon printer (For brake, piggy and wagon printer, the ping needs to be explicitly placed on the wagon)
- Improvement: Bot can use throwing, multi-mine
- Improvement: Bot now avoids getting killed from the sandworm and sandworm boss
- Improvement: Bot now handles the spider boss gameplay
- Bug fix: Bot sometimes operated far off screen

Winter patch hot fix

Hi everyone!
Here is the first patch of hot fixes :) - There will probably be another one!
Thank you for all your feedback already!

- Improvement: Snow person sounds added
- Crash fix: Crash when adding a character
- Improvement: Waterbars don’t ghost anymore
- Bug fix: Bot could wait indefinitely to wait for a player to walk out of the way when picking additional commodities
- Bug fix: Weird wagon extension behaviour with ghost engine (sometimes extensions got duplicated or deleted)
- Bug fix: Bot still picked up tracks from crafters > level 3 on wagon mode
- Bug fix: Some items in the Fashion Express not displaying correctly

Winter Update Pre-Release

Hi everyone!

Since we accidentally released the Supporter Pack already (it was scheduled for the 19th and we can’t revert it unfortunately), we had to push a major part of our next big update a few days before schedule, which enables the supporter pack but also much more. There will probably be some hot-fixes during the next days, so let us know any issues you encounter!
We push a more detailed annoucement on the 19th :)

Should you mouse not move as expected or a controller is not recognized anymore, please add "++ --noSDL" to your launch options. You can edit your lauch options by right clicking on the game in your library, then clicking on "Properties..." and adding it to the field at the bottom of the "General" tab.

[h3]Crumbly Returns![/h3]
We’ve freshly baked a new batch of our Gingerbread friend and are pleased to announce that they are unlockable together with a festive hat right now until January the 30th! All you have to do is to find a snowman and chop it down!
In addition to our newest character joining Unrailed 2’s roster, we’ve added some more updates.

[h3]Steam Achievements and Trading Cards[/h3]
Yep, you read correctly, Steam Achievements and Trading Cards are now available. Get back on track with Unrailed 2 and earn achievements along the way.

[h3]Bot Improvements[/h3]
We've heard your feedback and invested quite some time into improving the bot experience. Here's what we've changed:
  • The bot can destroy moles, webs, bones or canyon mountains
  • The bot automatically extinguishes the train in wagon mode if there's nothing else to do
  • The bot can now also handle supercharger, miner, collector, magnet, compactor, transformer, carriage, ghost, slot, piggybank and brake wagon
  • The bot now avoids getting wiped out or cocooned by enemies

[h3]Level Editor Improvements[/h3]
We've also made a couple of improvements to the terrain conductor mode:
  • The editor allows to place extensions on wagons to have them start with these extensions
  • The editor allows to place cartridges on spawn points to equip them to players
  • The engine counts down at the beginning of a custom map (this does not affect old maps)

[h3]Control Fixes[/h3]
We got reports from several players that input devices would disconnect or the game would not or would receive wrong inputs. We've completely changed the input handling to fix this issue. Do let us know if you still have input issues though!

[h3]Ghost Engine[/h3]
Do you sometimes wish your entire train was ghosted? Well now you can make your whish come true with the new ghost engine!
