Developer's Note: Moonlight Island Improvements

Hello, Milletians!

Greetings from the Mabinogi Development Team,

Last week saw the debut of the Moonlight Island update, bringing a whole new dimension of fun to Milletians.

Moonlight Island is Mabinogi's newest life content, allowing players to create and customize their very own Island, invite visitors to become residents, and continue to grow and expand the Island by using their islanders' skills to good use.

The development team has analyzed ways in which we might make Moonlight Island more enjoyable and accessible for everyone. After much discussion, we have included the following updates:
Improving the Starter Guide
Moonlight Island is an expansive and multifaceted offering, especially considering that it adds a variety of resources and vectors for growth. We decided it would be beneficial to improve how the game better explains those systems to players and expand access to the materials needed to help one's Island grow in its early stages. By doing this, we hoped it would help players to not only understand everything Moonlight Island has to offer, but get them off to a good start in developing their Islands.

The best way to accomplish this was to enhance Moonlight Island's tutorial questline.

Reviewing our existing material, we've made revisions to help walk you through the different systems available on Moonlight Island. It is our hope that the addition of step-by-step Guide Quests, which award Moonlight Island materials, will provide a supportive foundation to help you become more familiar with Island growth.

Lastly, we've added Amelia, a brand-new NPC ready to greet you on Moonlight Island. Amelia has plenty of help to offer, running you through Moonlight Island's systems and offering a variety of items for use on the Island in her shop.
Reducing the Difficulty of Island Growth and Management
Our aim with Moonlight Island was to give players a fun experience as they settle on their Island, complete with residents, using the skill points earned from growth to customize the attributes of Island and Islanders alike.

To help Milletians enjoy the excitement of populating their Island sooner, we decided that we needed to ease up on the requirements for the initial stages of growth. We've reduced the EXP needed to level up the Island and the Islanders to accomplish that.

We understood that the time and the cost of managing Moonlight Island were somewhat high. As a result, we've made it easier for your Islander’s production activities by making adjustments to several elements that could be exhausting or costly.
Increasing the Accessibility of Island-styling Elements
One of the most engaging and captivating features of Moonlight Island is that you can expand the Island and reshape its terrain to your liking. Landscape Essences are required to make alterations to the terrain, and we've made them available not only through the guide quests I mentioned earlier, but in Amelia's Shop as well.

Also, since we expected players might initially find it challenging to obtain the Moonlight Island Special Production Materials necessary to expand their Islands, we lowered the requirements for the first stage of Island expansion, making it easier for more Milletians to reach that momentous milestone.
Celebrated the Update With a Boost Event
We held a two-week celebration boost event to celebrate the launch of the Moonlight Island update and helped every Milletian get their Island off to a great start.

During the event, Amelia's Shop sold some of the Moonlight Island Special Production items that bolstered your combat abilities, which allowed you to try them out until enough Milletians improved their Islands enough to start crafting them. In addition, to help ensure you had plenty of items to customize your Moonlight Island, Amelia's Shop sold Amelia's Homestead Boxes, which contained one of the many Homestead furnishings.

During the event period, EXP acquired from Moonlight Island Production increased for both the Island and Islanders alike, and you saw increased chances for visitors to drop by your Moonlight Island.

It's our hope that your beautifully decorated Moonlight Island will become a beloved place you can go to relax, and we'll continue listening to your feedback and making improvements as we go.

The detailed guide page below contains additional information about Moonlight Island and its features.

As always, we'll continue striving to create a more enjoyable environment for every player, working hard to make you proud to be a Milletian.

Thank you.

[Notice] Aug. 8 Account Sanctions

Hello Milletians,

In our recent August patch, we noted that an exploit involving Treasure Chest Keys had been fixed and was under further investigation. During this investigation, we have found numerous accounts that have rampantly abused this method to gain an abnormal amount of rewards from Glenn Bearna, exploiting the issue multiple times. These accounts will be facing immediate bans, ranging from permanent to temporary, based on the severity that they abused this issue.
 • 63 players will be facing immediate bans of varying lengths based on the severity at which they've abused the exploit. Accounts that have had leniency placed upon them for prior offenses are subject to stronger punitive action

While we cannot disclose specific details of the bans directly, if you have any questions regarding your account, please submit a ticket to Player Support. As a reminder, use of and discussion of exploits are against Mabinogi's Terms of Service.

Thank you for your understanding.
