NIMRODS Update | The Beetle Patch | Hotfix 0.4.8

Greetings, NIMRODS!

In today’s hotfix, we're mostly turning our attention to the Dung Beetles... which were about as fun to play against as their name implies. We wanted for the harder, spikier Dung Beetles in the Ancient and Elder Hive Barrens to have a set of mechanics that were unique to them, but our intention was to make the Dung Beetles hard... not unfair.

So we overhauled the advanced Dung Beetles! In addition to the removal of the reversed controls mechanic, we've also gotten rid of the homing mechanic. Now instead of having the projectiles home in on you, the advanced Dung Beetles fire two smaller projectiles instead of one larger one. In addition, the number of Dung Beetles total has been reduced, and when they do spawn, they spawn in clumps and lines instead of trickling in. This means that when they throw their projectiles, they tend to come as a barrage instead of having the beetles just constantly pelting you with refuse. The end result is that facing off against Dung Beetles should be a test of your skill, not a test of how much armor you'd managed to stack.

Now you don't need to take crap from anybody.

Gear up, toss your drone your favorite gun, and head to the Hive Barrens, or the Ancient and Elder versions, and let us know how the reworked Dung Beetles feel! We'll be listening!
