Stampede: Racing Royale is picking up speed on our road to Early Access launch! As we announced during the ID@Xbox showcase with a fancy new trailer, the free-to-play, online 60-player battle royale kart racer from Sumo Leamington and Secret Mode comes to Steam and Xbox this summer. A massive thank you to everyone who has taken part in our recent playtest window, either right here on Steam, or via Xbox Insider Program. Being able to share our progress with you, stress-test new content, and have a first live run at cross-platform matchmaking, has been hugely helpful for our development team.

The feedback and understanding of players has once again been fantastic, as we work through this phase of development. From reporting bugs, to sharing your suggestions, to just getting involved here and on Discord, the Stampede community has delivered. We truly appreciate it!



[h2]Playtest Closing Soon[/h2]

We wanted to let you know the current playtest will be closing on Monday, May 20, at 10am UK time, across all platforms. This move is to help focus all the team’s efforts towards our upcoming Early Access launch.

For Steam players, we have our usual playtest survey here, which we encourage all players of the current Steam playtest to fill out. Your submissions will once again help our team with tweaks and changes, both for Early Access and beyond.

A quick reminder of something mentioned in our FAQs: Progress and rewards earned in this playtest will not be carried over to the Early Access launch. This is necessary to help ensure the game is balanced and enjoyable for all players, once ‘Season 0’ goes live.

However, that doesn’t mean you’ll be empty-handed…

We’re hyped to reveal the customisation item reward for Steam Playtest players – this exclusive feline-themed helmet!

All players who joined this current playtest on Steam, or took part in October 2023’s playtest on Steam, will receive this item, shortly after Early Access goes live. So, if you’re yet to jump into our playtest, you have a couple more days to get involved and earn your reward!

It's the least we can do to thank our ever-growing Stampede community. We’re super excited for what’s ahead and will share more details as soon as we can.

The herd is increasing once again, as the latest Steam Playtest for Stampede: Racing Royale goes live today!

If you joined any of Stampede’s Steam Playtests in 2023, you’ll be automatically added to the playtest – look out for an email with details, and check your Steam Library for updates. If you’re new to our frantic online kart racing battle bonanza (phew, that’s a mouthful!), just head to our Steam store page, hit the green ‘Request Access’ button, and you’ll be emailed with full details.

Steam players can join the action alongside current Xbox Insider Program players, checking out a work-in-progress preview of what’s coming to Early Access later this year. The playtest is the same version of the game available on Insider Program, and cross-platform matchmaking will be enabled, meaning players across Xbox, Windows PC, and Steam will be competing to be champion against each other!

Discover a huge range of additions and changes since last year’s Steam Playtest, driven by community feedback, including over 400 new customisation items to discover, new maps, Special Events, fresh progression features, and plenty more. Join the Stampede chat on Discord and use our reporting form to have your say and help us polish things up for Early Access launch.

Please note: The playtest will run on Steam Deck, but significant performance issues may still pop up, as we continue to make improvements on this device. We’re working on it!

To those of you joining the herd for the first time, Stampede: Racing Royale is our free-to-play, 60-player online kart racing battle royale bonanza. Compete against the world – with cross-platform matchmaking – in wild races and battles, avoiding elimination over three rounds, to be crowned the ultimate champion.

Discover incredible maps, pull off huge drifts, deploy destructive power-ups, and enjoy the thrill of fast-paced karting action, combined with competitive battle royale intensity!

In collaboration with our community, Stampede has been growing and developing over the past year, through playtests and feedback from our players. This has helped bring big additions and changes for Early Access launch, including new modes, new ways to play, new progression features, and hundreds of new customisation items to discover.



Between now and Early Access launch, we’ll be sharing more of what you can expect – and you can get a taste of the action today!
