Q&A with Kazugaia

Kazugaia — Game Director of STALCRAFT: X.

Well, dear players, this is Kazugaia. I am the person who plans releases of our glorious game and determines what we will do next. Obviously, I do not make all decisions on my own, but according to the requirements of various analyses, available resources and problems of the game.

Before I move on to your questions, I'd like to say that the answers will be rather skimpy. Why? Because I'm just going to come to the Discord server and answer your questions there for some time. I believe that a live chat is much better than a simple reply.

I will keep silent on some questions, I won't tell you the timeframe, and I'm unlikely to give you specifics either. Any words I say now will be used by you against us within N time. But I will be able to share my hypothetical thoughts about the development of STALCRAFT: X in each of the directions and highlight the main issues we face in their possible development — besides the lack of resources.

Well, read the Q&A and go ask me questions in the Discord discussion!

We plan to redesign Lyubech next summer with a complete rework of the location. We will not simplify current Lyubech. If you want to experiment on the current Lyubech — gather a petition, if there will be a lot of people I'll poke events there myself. But this does not mean that Lyubech will become easier…

Yes, it's expected. Either this year or next year. Too many issues with the quest date. ROOT CHARACTER FACTIONS WON'T BE ABLE TO BE CHANGED.

Players strive to factions, and the preponderance is different on each server. Armour and player preferences affect. As soon as all factions will have armour, only preferences and unaccounted factors will impact. We will try to cover unaccounted factors, and with preferences will not do anything.

Unfortunately, I can't, because I don't have enough resources to put a person to work on sound only. I can say that 1 of the iterations of the positional sound has already passed the tests, now the second one is in development, but due to the workload of the programmers I can't give any deadlines.

March-April. If we don't run into any problems.

We haven't planned something like this yet.

It is planned to add a branch of backpacks together with the rework of backpacks. And it also depends on inventory rework, which is also planned.

There will be separate gear for signals, with signal rework. Mechanics will get a change.

These items will go into season boxes as extra filler.

There are no plans yet.

Then the event cannot be re-launched next year. We have already had such an experience, and as a result the mode was abandoned by players within half a year. So we are not leaving them for now. If there will be more players, we will probably leave some of these modes.

I would like to, but not a priority in the near future. The mechanics are not trivial, and there is not much impact.

It's very difficult to describe. In short: we have the option of developing into wild locations, and developing into faction gameplay. Both concepts contradict each other, and we would like to understand which of these concepts the gamers like more. Some events and content updates are aimed at increasing the understanding of where the endgame will go.

Unfortunately, that's not possible right now. But we are preparing for open matchmaking. For example, on the new Roadside NPC spots will vary in difficulty depending on your matchmaking level. Open matchmaking is very closely tied to faction balance, as well as the economic viability of locations, so it can't be released here and now.

We really want clan halls. The problem is that they require a lot of resources. We will try to start full development this year. Personally, I would like to see on the base standing D-30 artillery batteries, which you equip to the CW, and can use them to a limited extent, and similar things.

There are at least 5 projects aimed at balancing factions and fighting AFK copies. They will be released as soon as they are ready.

It will be possible to convert extra items into something.

The contusion effect will be possible together with the rework of infection effects. The grenades themselves, I don't know if we will rework them significantly, but we will definitely try it.

New locations are in development.

Yes, it's planned.

Yes, we do. When we're done with the main gun branches, we'll move on to the secondaries.
