Happy New Year 2025! What's Next?
Hey, hey, hey!
It’s good to be back again, commanders.
Happy New Year and all the best for 2025 from the whole Eugen team! Let’s go and make another kick-ass WARNO year.

In today’s first-ever 2025 post, we’ll take a look at what’s in store for WARNO for the foreseeable future. But before we start, a little recap of 2024 would not be out of place.
How 2024 Came To Pass?
All right, we wanted to give you a review of 2024 before blasting off into the new year with full abandon.
Of course, one of Eugen’s main feats was releasing WARNO out of Early Access into the wild (with only a modicum of delay). Well, scratch that last part: we released the game late. As you know, the team is small, dedicated, and always hard at work at our games (not only WARNO but also Steel Division 2). Game development as a whole is a delicate art, and delays, technical issues, and other unforeseen obstacles are more common than not. However, we did manage to stuff extra content, divisions, weapons, and units in WARNO’s official launch.

WARNO had its full release on May 23rd, 2024, with 18 divisions, 4 operations, and 5 Army General campaigns (that’s 2 divisions and 1 Army General campaign more than originally promised). Plus, we threw in 5 extra divisions with the Early Access Pack for free for Early Access owners of WARNO.

There is more. We released various new maps in several Reinforcement Packs: Stoneware, Railway, Urban Frontlines, and Albion, Valley and Factory. The last two new maps were specifically created with new assets in response to community requests (Urban and Provence - Southern France).
Throughout the year, we rolled out a host of patches, new features, improvements, and updates, in some cases… ahem… in response to previously rolled-out patches and updates.

You guessed it: Eugen development team is small, mighty, but human. We do at times make mistakes, get unit balances wrong, or take too long to finish, but in the end, we all share the aim to make WARNO the best kick-ass real-time strategy game out there.
Redoubling Our Efforts
Despite some delays, we redoubled our efforts to stay on schedule (which we did manage!) with WARNO’s Expansion Pass content. We delivered:
Nemesis #1: Air Assault, featuring the American 101st Airborne Division and Soviet 56th Separate Guards Air Assault Brigade.

Nemesis #2: Plateau d'Albion, being the first community-voted mini-expansion, featuring the French 152e Division d'Infanterie and Soviet 76th Airborne Division.

And our very first major expansion, WARNO - NORTHAG, with 10 new Divisions, 4 Operations, and 2 Army General campaigns. It also included Belgium, the Netherlands, and Poland as new nations, with a fearsome cameo from Luxembourg!
What Can You Expect?
Enough with the old, in with the new! What’s in the works for WARNO on the near horizon?
Nemesis #3 has been picked (by us, so no community vote) and will be soon unveiled. We have already started to work on this mini-expansion in order to speed up development and to get it into your hands quicker!

WARNO - SOUTHAG is coming your ways as well. This major expansion is in the workshop, as we speak, and will feature 10 new divisions, 4 new Operations, and 2 new Army General Campaigns. The expansion will feature Canada, Spain, and Czechoslovakia as new playable nations.
Nemesis #4
But first, from next week onwards, we’ll start with a new Nemesis round, and this one will be - once again - a community vote! The sooner we have a final vote (in a couple of weeks), the sooner we can get busy in the Eugen kitchen.
Until Next Week!
That’s it for this first WARNO DevBlog. We’ll be back next week with Nemesis #4.1!
Don’t forget the vibrant WARNO community. Check the latest news on the Steam News page or visit the Steam Forums. Get together with other players on either the excellent Discord server, Reddit page, YouTube or our Instagram.
