It’s been a couple of months since we released Virtual Hunter out of early access and today I thought I’d tell you a bit about what we are up to!

For a long time we’ve had people asking, requesting (even demanding!) to get the game on other platforms than PCVR. We’ve said before that we will look into it after full release. It would have been impossible to work on such a massive game on several platforms with our small team. But now this is something we can look into. Which platforms we aim is something to be determined but we will keep you up to date when we have more news. We want as many players as possible to experience the thrill of a hunt in VR so this is exciting.

We are excited to announce that Virtual Hunter is leaving early access on January 15th!

After three years of hard work by a small team to push the boundaries of open world VR games, Virtual Hunter is now feature complete. The game had very humble beginning with a small map and just two animals to hunt. Today players can immerse themselves in one of the largest open worlds in all of VR with seven species, multiplayer, realistic weapon handling, unique trophy mounting system and so much more.

The game was been shaped by involving the passionate community in the development. All of the support, feedback and input have been invaluable and without them, the game would not be what it is today. We are grateful for everyone and it's been a pleasure to form such an amazing community around the game.

In this smaller update we improved ambient audios, added finished map images, a new shouldering offset for gun stock users & other fixes! You also get a proper Steam name in multiplayer if you’re launching the game using Virtual Desktop. Enjoy the update and happy hunting!

• Changed multiplayer backup player namings to more generic, Player [number], instead of old backup names when couldn’t receive the Steam account name
  
• Player joined/left notification appears now on the mobile tracker and can be closed by pressing the button or waiting some time
  

• Made the sun more visible in the sky
  
• Increased and balanced ambient audio volume
  

• Added a “Shouldering Offset” setting into the “Stabilization” settings that defines how far from the shoulder the stabilization will activate
  
• Bulgarian map image updated to its final version
  
• Trophy lodge map image updated to its final version
  

• Fixed an issue where the dropped backpack ends up on wrong location in multiplayer during the fast travel
  
• Fixed an issue where the Steam account name wasn’t received as a player name in game when launching through Virtual Desktop
  
• Fixed LOD distances of several objects
