September Update Preview

Hello, Our Responsible Mayors.
I’m so glad to take you to have a look about this major update which also is the first major update in 1.0. And it will be Mid Autumn Festival soon. There will be discount for such a festival! We appreciate that you participated in previous poll, that was our motivation to make changes. Now, with out further ado, let’s get in to the preview.



Character Proportion Adjustment:

This is the major process of this update.We’ve received so many voices and suggestions from you guys in that poll and collected enough feedback for changes. We thank you all for your support and passion. After the poll, we started to optimize and adjust the models. As the poll result, we adjusted the proportion to B2, G2 in the reference.

Although Song of The Prairie is cartoon and fairy tale style, but if you look at the character faces and body shape, you will realize that bigger head looks out of proportion. Of course, we understand that some players may get use to this proportion during the long-time playing. But we still believe, shrinking character’s head could make them more beautiful and fit.

Just like we said in poll announcement, proportion adjustment would be a huge project. Even, the visual change was just the shrinking of head, but this kind of change has involved all the items and props related to head in game world. Like headwears , hats and haircuts. After the adjustment, all the anchors on those items, obviously, were not match anymore, so, we need to change them. In creating interface. Although the UI operation has changed not that much, but all the parameters need to be changed one by one to fit smaller head. More important, the animations and movements, we don’t want frequent overlapping or some strange abnormal behaviors. The rigs and animation ranges also need to be adjusted. All in all, it was not that easy.

But we still made it! Now all the adjustment has been done, with more reasonable proportion, we believe the visual experience will be significantly improved.





NPC Outfit-Changing Optimization

In previous, we added the function to change NPC outfits, and it’ s very popular. We could see NPC with different outfits from your screenshots. This time, we continually optimized this function. You could gift something like decorations, jewelries. But sometimes, these decorations were not that match to the outfits. And the only choice was replacing those decorations by gifting NCP a new one. Now, things will be different. After the optimization, we added empty option for decoration slots. If you don’t like those decorations, just hide them, it’s much convenient isn’t it?



Resources Optimization:

We will optimize the resources or performance in every major update. As always, we optimized the model, texture resources as always so that to shorten reloading time. Before, reading files might take a long time if those files contained long-term gameplay data. Now, reload time will be shorter technically.
This kind of optimization may hard to witness, but will effect your gameplay experience, that’s why we never stop the optimization.

Nectar Machine Logical Optimization:

Nectar machine is a helper in farm life. They process nectar for cooking and feeding flower tail beasts. But you could put in so many kinds of flowers to process. So, when you enter it’s UI, you have to wait for it to finish it’s sorting process to flowers then show you the interface. This kind of experience was bothering. After the update, you don’t have to wait for the whole process, it will display the interface then begin to load the process. It looks like a simple change on logic, but for game experience, it’s a great leap.
