Update 1.2.9: New vehicles, uniforms, effects and a new poll for the community!

Hi everyone,

First of all, here are the latest changes to Easy Red 2:

Recent changes
New features:
•Added Panzer 38(t).
•Added German Tropical uniform.
•Added optional ADS blur.
•New TPS animations.
•Added US pilot helmet.
•Added soviet pilot uniform.

Fixes:
•Improved random camo selection algorithm.
•Various fixes in French DLC vehicles.
•Improved Japanese uniforms.
•Completly reworked UI blur.
•Completly reworked depth of Field blur.
•Adjustments in several missions.
•Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.


Poll about future campaigns
We are also currently running a Poll regarding what campaigns to add during next year!

Note:
•Typically, we can create assets for new campaigns concurrently with the development of exciting features, like the upcoming AI rework, as my part in coding is distinct from the work of the artists involved in making assets.
•Overall, our plan is to create one or a few new free campaigns, starting off in early 2023.
This poll is exclusively about campaigns. Suggestions for features of stuff unrelated to new campaigns will be ignored as they belong to another poll.

Ardennes 1940 & 1944

We finally released the new DLC, which inlcudes 2 new campaigns: Early war France invasion and late war Battle of the bulge!
The campaigns consists on 13 new missions, 2 new maps, and a lot of new game content including French faction, new weapons, new uniforms, new vehicles and many new mission editor props!

Switch release

The version just released is the final candidate for Siwthc update. Switch users can expect to have all new features and fixes up to this very new version of the game. We hope that the update process with Nintendo will be complete by Christmas!


Xbox release

We just finished coding the Multiplayer for Xbox version. Just a few more things are to be coded and tested and we are ready to submit the Xbox version to Microsoft!


TPS Animations Rework

We're continuously enhancing the game by incorporating new and reworked third-person shooter (TPS) animations on a weekly basis. If you'd like to stay in the loop on our upcoming animation improvements, you can find a detailed list on our Discord server.


Normandy Campaign

We released the Normandy Campaign earlier this summer after working on it for over 9 months. We are very happy with the positive reception that it has received. Thank you to everyone who has played it!

Ardennes 1940 & 1944 release, A new free campaign, and other updates!

We finally released the new announced Ardennes campaigns, but we also have other great news including a new completly free campaign added to the game, so let's get started!

Ardennes 1940 & 1944

We finally released the new DLC, which inlcudes 2 new campaigns: Early war France invasion and late war Battle of the bulge!
The campaigns consists on 13 new missions, 2 new maps, and a lot of new game content including French faction, new weapons, new uniforms, new vehicles and many new mission editor props!

Makin campaign

We managed to fit also the release of a new minor but free Makin campaign inside this update.
This campaign expands the Pacific theater battles by 5 new missions and a new map.


For the next year we have huge plans for other new campaigns that will be added for free to the game, which will also include new free weapons, vehicles, factions and more!
As always we will decide what campaigns we will make next with polls with our community inside our Discord server.

Steam Awards

Before proceeding with the other news, we would like to inform you about the currently ongoing Steam Awards where you can nominate your favourite games!
We are doing a very hard work and we plan to keep up with it for the next year, so if you like the new campaigns, the constant improvements, the upcoming AI rework, the console releases and everything we are working on, we would appreciate so much to get your nomination!


New roadmap

We are a bit late with this, but finally we prepared the new Roadmap!
Last roadmap was full of plans and we managed to complete everything except for the animations rework and the XBox version; We did complete 100% the FPS animations, but we will need just a few more months to finalize the TPS animations, while for the XBox we managed to obtain the developers kit only a few weeks ago; But apart from this, everything else in the roadmap have been 100% completed, so now we prepared a new Roadmap for the first half of next year, and you can read it here!
The roadmap doesn't contain everything we are going to add to the game, but just the most important features.
Probably the biggest challange and the most interesting new for the early 2024, is the complete AI reowork! We have a dedicated channel on our Discord group where we are collecting all the suggestions about how the new AI should work!


Kos Rework

Recently we announced a free complete rework of the Kos campaign. We will make complelty new buildings, revisit the entire map and remake the missions for the campaign.
Old buildings will not be removed from the game (and so from the workshop missions), but just swapped with new and fresh buildings on the Kos map.

TPS Animations Rework

Xbox release

We are making huge progresses with the XBox release, we just finalized implementing the input system for the XBox version, and we can confirm that the XBox version will be playable both with gamepad or Keyboard!
We are now working to make the multiplayer system working with XBox and we are ready to submit the build to Microsoft.


Switch release

Soon we will start the submission process with Nintendo to bring all the updates up to this very version on the Nintendo switch. The console will also get other improvements like new dedicated settings to customize the gyro settings even more!

Update 1.2.8: New animations, improvements and new Roadmap released!

•Added some more new TPS animations.

Fixes:
•Fixed head clipping when ADS on TPS open-top turret.
•Fixed breath effect not working anymore after rig change.
•Improved turret rotation sound system.
•Improved the UI at higher screen resolution.
•Improved head movement system in TPS.
•Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.


New roadmap

We are a bit late with this, but finally we prepared the new Roadmap!

We recently announced the launch of the store page for the Ardennes 1940 & 1944 DLC. This exciting expansion introduces the French faction, allowing you to defend France during the early days of World War II. Additionally, it brings you to the intense late-war Battle of the Bulge campaign, complete with new winter equipment and vehicles for an immersive experience in Easy Red 2.

We are almost done with this campaign and it's likely it will be released by the end of this month!

Hi everyone.

We finally prepared the Roadmap for the future plans of the game in the next 9 months circa.


We're diving into an exciting project that's sure to keep us busy—the AI rework. This has been a highly requested feature, promising substantial enhancements to both the feel and gameplay. Our goal is to revamp the AI code completely, paving the way for more realistic behaviors, improved performance to accommodate a larger number of AI in battles, and a streamlined process for adding new AI capabilities and features.

With that in mind, the roadmap is straightforward this time, so let's get right into it:

Update 1.2.7f3: New TPS anims, Kos rework announcment, many smaller improvements

First of all, here are the latest changes to Easy Red 2:

•Added new standing relaxed anims TPS.
•Added new no-weapon jump anim TPS.
•Added new melee anims TPS.
•Added new cover anims variants TPS.
•Added some new pistol animations TPS.
•Added new German helmets.
•Added turret and static guns rotating sound.
•Unit wheel selector now displays units armament type.

Fixes:
•AI doesn't aim when standing toward a wall.
•Improved pistom placment in TPS for new anims.
•Fixed custom patches/music/sounds when joining workshop missions online.
•Fixes in some uniforms and helmets.
•Fixes in some squads.
•Fixed a bug where modded props where not being cached correctly.
•Improved Gewehr 43 model.
•Several other smaller changes and fixes suggested on the Discord server.
