The Veteran Update

New Content
New Worker - The Veteran!
Attention, soldiers! Roland Knecht has arrived!

Hailing from many battlefields, the Veteran is now ready to settle in more peaceful pastures. He brings with him a wealth of military knowledge, including the ability to craft Dual Wield Weapons and Quivers!

But that’s not all. As a renowned drill instructor, he knows how to whip those Heroes into shape! His Premium Worker ability allows you to, once per Hero, replace a skill with any skill of your choice. The only restrictions are that it must be a skill that Hero can learn normally, and one that is not already known to the Hero. It can be any skill slot and any skill rarity.

All Heroes, new and old, can benefit from this effect once each.

Roland is available for purchase for players at level 32 or higher.
New Blueprint Type - Quivers!
In a world where ammo is infinite, can there be a market for quivers? If there is a will, there is a way. These quivers are quite the bundle and contain arrows, bolts and bullets at the same time!

Due to this, it also has a few special rules. One, it can only be equipped alongside a Gun, Crossbow or Bow. It’s not too useful otherwise! If it’s equipped alongside another weapon, it will be disabled and provide no stat bonuses.

Two, it bears a special affinity for Bows, which gain a 30% item bonus when equipped alongside a quiver. One cannot name a more iconic duo, after all.

Rest assured however that Guns, Crossbows and Bows can still function without the help of a quiver if one prefers.
New Blueprint Type - Dual Wield!
Perhaps our most unique item type yet!

From a crafting point of view, Dual wield is conventional. It is its own blueprint line, with its own Ascension Milestones and Advanced Research. Let’s take the Crystal Destroyers blueprint, for example. It is a Dual Wield blueprint featuring an Axe and a Mace. The result is a single item (Crystal Destroyers) that can be sold and equipped normally, benefitting from Dual Wield crafting upgrades, but not from Axe or Mace ones.

When it comes to Heroes though, things get more unique. No Hero class can explicitly equip Dual Wield items. So long as they can normally wield one of the weapons part of the Dual Wield, they can wield it! A Cleric for example could equip the Crystal Destroyers, even if they can’t normally use Axes.

This logic is similar for Hero skills. While no skill specifically enhances Dual Wield, other skills such as Mace Master would grant their full bonus to the Crystal Destroyers. Similarly, a Thief (with its innate bonus to Daggers) with the Sword Master skill would receive the benefit of both skills if equipped with a Sword/Dagger Dual Wield item. Do keep in mind however that a single skill (e.g Warlord) will never grant its bonus twice.

Major Changes
Guild Finder
We’ve overhauled the Guild Finder algorithm to more accurately find guilds suitable for the user. We’re also currently working on improving the Member Finder, which should help guilds find members from dead guilds.

Minor Changes
 • Restored the Guild’s Choice option to the guild settings.
 • The Scholar now shows up at level 15. Previously, she showed as soon as the player crafted a few enchantments, which could lead to some confusion.
 • Since everyone’s doing bounties now, there’s a bit of competition on the bounty board. We’ve added 3 new guild upgrades to increase the amount of bounties available at once.
 • With Dual Wield and Quivers, we now have a lot of blueprint lines with special rules! Deep within the blueprint details of relevant items, we’ve added a line explaining these special rules, if any. In the future, we’ll look into a more visible solution.
 • Improved the visual clarity of contribution amounts in the guild contribution menu in events.

Balance Changes
 • Druidic Grimoire Ascension upgrades now reduce the quality of its Noble Ring components to Normal, rather than removing one of them.
 • “Sell X Gold Worth of items” bounties are now a bit harder, and “Surcharge X gold worth of items” bounties are now a bit easier.
 • Small talk bounties are now a bit easier to account for the failure chance.
 • “Spend Resource” bounties are now a bit easier.
 • Each bounty type normally goes on a cooldown for some time before it can resurface. This cooldown has been halved, allowing them to show up again faster.

Halloween Spirit Update

This update is slated for release next week!

New Content
Community Event! Zolea’s Halloween Spirit!
Halloween is creeping up, but as a spirit herself, Zolea finds the city’s Halloween spirit to be lacking! She requests that all shopkeepers serve trick or treaters with zeal!

For the duration of the event, the entire community must serve 75 million customers! Any sale made in the shop counts, including king sales and Champion requests! If this challenge is completed, Zolea will reward all players with the following:
 • 50 Ascension Shards
 • 50 Antique Tokens
 • 50 Dragonmarks
 • 5 Limited Edition!

But there’s more! On the third day of the event, a Secret Challenge will be revealed. Completing both challenges in time will cause Zolea to overflow with joy (and Halloween spirit). She will DOUBLE her Essence regeneration rate for an entire year! You don’t wanna miss that one!

As with last time, event progress will be shared every day through in-game mails as well as on our website. The event will run from October 21st and end on the 26th. If all challenges are completed, the Essence bonus reward will be implemented in the next update.
Halloween Neighborhood Content Pass
Another content pass so soon? And it’s got new stuff, too! Complete tasks and gather Candies for a tummy ache and cool new exclusive rewards! On top of cool new blueprints, there’s some outstanding decorations and customizations this time around!
 • The Candy Bowl decoration invites customers to take candy from its bowl. This decoration tracks how many candies were taken!
 • The Ghostkeeper customization uses bedsheet technology to turn your shopkeeper into a very convincing apparition! Your arms are not available, but you don’t need those anyway.
 • As the Grand Prize, there is the Ghastly Cowl rogue hat! It’s a cool Tier 14 you don’t wanna miss!

Ardent trick or treaters can also unlock the Candy Fiend title by completing every single task in the Content Pass.

The Halloween Neighborhood Content Pass will run from October 1st until the 29th.

Major Changes
Bounty Refactor
Bounty balance has received a significant overhaul. Gone are the days of bounties asking for 9  highly specific crafts. They will now prefer asking for tiers, gold value, or simply crafts of any item or an item type rather than a specific item. In addition, bounties asking for specific item types will scale with your progress within that item type. Most other bounty types have received similar changes to make them flexible.

Do keep in mind however that once some members of a guild start updating to the latest version, players of the same guild who have not yet updated may see their bounty board stop generating bounties. This is a necessary inconvenience while two incompatible systems coexist in the same guild, but should be resolved once all members have updated.

In addition, any bounties currently in progress will be wiped after updating.
Dual Affinity
Some blueprints had a particular affinity for multiple elements. In these cases, their Affinity can now support up to two elements! A list of items affected by this change can be found at the bottom of these patch notes.

Minor Changes
 • Gems earned from level ups are now part of the level up screen itself, rather than a separate celebration screen.
 • Clarified the rulings for equipment never breaking during single-round quests. Sunglasses will now appear on the party only if the quest is expected to last only one round AND that no party members are defeated. This will guarantee a break-free quest.

King Schedule

King Reinhold will be available as a guest champion on October 14th until the 17th.

Bug Fixes
 • Updated the Dunes and Beachside floorings so that they mesh better together.
 • Fixed item icons looking a bit crunchy.
 • Fixed a few Rudo skill strings.
 • Fixed a few Wallpapers and Floorings that refused to show up as antiques in the antique store.
 • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA is gone but not forgotten.
 • Fixed the Favored Quest popup becoming misaligned when switching from landscape to portrait or vice versa.
 • Fixed some blueprints (e.g. Artifact blueprints) displaying "x1" instead of "Exclusive" on offers.
 • Fixed some offers not displaying the tier of a blueprint.
 • Fixed furniture not properly sorting new decorations first in some scenarios.
 • Improved the visual clarity of the energy count on customer interaction buttons. (legends say that it's actually true this time).

Version 17.3.0 Release Notes

New Content
Party Presets - Favored Quest
It is now possible to assign a Favored Quest to a party preset. Whenever a Favored Quest is selected, the default party will be chosen among those with that quest as favorite, provided the team is rested and ready to go.
Mega Dungeon Content Pass
Troublins tremble! The Mega Dungeon Content Pass has come! It features blueprints themed around our many dungeons, with the Troublin Bento as the Grand Prize. Complete tasks to collect Emblems and unlock all this content!

Super Dungeoneers can work towards the Dungeon Master title, unlocked only by completing every single task of the event.

The Mega Dungeon Content Pass will run for two weeks, starting on September 10th and ending on September 25th.

Major Changes
Break System Refactor
Previously, the Break system was a needlessly complex matter. To put it simply, items would roll to break every round, making it very punishing for low damage parties, even if they could otherwise reliably tank their way to victory. It made for a very uneven experience across players which could be very frustrating, particularly during the Lost City of Gold event.

As of now, each quest instead has a specific amount of Break attempts it will do among items owned by quest survivors. Items can resist these break attempts with their Break Chance, with item quality, the Engineer and similar bonuses applying as normal.

As an added bonus, very early quests no longer break items (or have very low break chance) to ease in new players and allow them to stockpile repair kits.
Optimization
Memory usage footprint from textures reduced by approximately 30% and app size by around 10%.

Minor Changes
 • When visiting a guildmate’s shop and their game version differs from yours, the message now more accurately explains what’s going on.
 • Aurasongs can now break. Familiars were (and remain) unbreakable to avoid gruesome implications, but this immunity was extended to Aurasongs by default due to them also being Champion items.
 • If you haven’t played in a while, the King may show up at your counter. This will generate a notification on your phone, which can be enabled or disabled from your Settings.
 • Added visual indicators to specify which quest a chest is from in the Chest Opening screen.
 • Adjusted the "Repair" button on the item break screen to display both the repair cost and the total amount of repair kits a player has.
 • Adjusted the text of some Ascension Milestones bonuses from "Tier >N" to "Tier N+" for clarity.
 • Clarified Slot rewards in Content Passes to better show which slot is being unlocked.
 • Standardized the language used for Cancel/Exit/None buttons across multiple UIs.
 • The 23rd quest upgrade of every quest has been replaced with -20% item breaks. The XP bonus it replaces has been added to the 21st upgrade.

Balance Changes
 • Rudo now provides a general Break Chance Reduction bonus to the party, no longer limited to the first rounds of the battle. At max rank, it is 50%.

King Schedule

King Reinhold will be available as a Guest Champion on September 16th, leaving on the 19th.

Bug Fixes
 • Fixed bounties never asking for high tier stones and enchantments.
 • Rearranged the item type order of the craft list back to its original setup.
 • Fixed Vanity gear gradually stripping itself when repeatedly tapping on an equipped vanity item.
 • Fixed the Polonia’s Jolly Roger not properly stacking with other furniture, including carpets surprisingly enough.
 • Increased stats on the Jambon du Donjon blueprint.
 • Fixed an issue where only one of the guild requirements needed to be met to join a guild.
 • Improved the error message when logging into the game with an outdated client.
 • Fixed Enchantments not being considered in the Collection Book.
 • Fixed the tooltip for player titles obstructing the player title itself.
 • Fixed an instance where Dragonmarks could obstruct the Energy meter.
 • Fixed the Piggy Bank’s progress bar appearing green despite being claimed.
 • Fixed Guild Rank not updating until switching tabs in the Guild Info menu.
 • Fixed the “Craft” button missing from the “Missing requirements” menu for Enchantments.

Coming Soon
Bounty Rebalance
Bounties have been in a weird place for a long time, best described as “tiresome”. They ask for highly specific crafts that rarely overlap with the current goals of the player, forcing them to choose between progress and bounty completion.

As part of this refactor, we’ll be introducing a greater variety of tasks. They are inspired by those found in Content Passes, such as “craft 100 tiers of bows” rather than “Craft 10 Gemini Strike”.

The Community Update

This update is slated for release next week!

New Content
Quest Party Presets
A very consistent request over our many years of Shop Titans, and due to this, a natural addition to this community update!

Upon unlocking the Sun God’s Tomb (the first quest featuring 4 party members), the Party Preset menu will be unlocked. There, you can set up your own parties for quicker quest preparation in the future. Players have access to one Party slot per 3 Hero slots they have unlocked. You can give them names, too!
Piggy Bank Refactor
The Piggy Banks have received substantial changes! The Golden Pig in particular now prominently features various antiques, with very high chances of generating a decoration, customization, wallpaper or flooring. There’s also a small chance to roll a blueprint!*

In addition, new players will start the weekly pig cycle with a Golden Pig immediately. After opening it, they’ll need to open one regular pig before their next Golden Pig. The next cycle will require 2 regular pigs, and so on until they reach the usual and final cycle of 6 regular pigs per Golden Pig. Though it is meant as an introductory progression for new players, current players will also get to benefit from it.

Other changes:
 • The Golden Pig now drops bigger stacks of Ascension Shards and Research Scrolls (25 instead of 10).
 • The Golden Pig is more likely to drop better Keys (specifically, Volcano and up).
 • The Golden Pig now drops bigger stacks of Champion Coins (30 instead of 5).
 • As the Golden Pig no longer features Gems, the regular pigs drop higher quantities (25 instead of 15).
 • Regular pigs no longer drop quest components. Runestones and Moonstones are still available.
 • The gold amount required to open a daily piggy bank has always scaled with the value of blueprints owned by the payer. Starting now, blueprints that have never been crafted will not be taken into account.

*As a special rule, on top of the usual Antique rules, blueprints must be at least one year old to become valid Golden Pig prizes. They also cannot be of a tier higher than you’ve ever crafted.
Maces VS Spears Community Challenge
This is a crafting challenge for all of you! Maces and Spears clash!

Every shopkeeper must work together to craft 25 million tiers worth of Maces and Spears! You’ll have one week, but if everyone pitches in, we know you can do it!

If the community manages to reach this goal, we’ll be giving out one free blueprint to everyone. But! There’s also a choice to be made here!

The two available blueprints are the Tower of Thorns Mace and the Blackthorn Razor Spear. Whichever item type generated the most tiers will be crowned the winner, and its blueprint will be given out. The other will fade into oblivion forever*.

The event starts on August 16th and ends on the 23rd. Blueprints crafted before this date will not count. A mail will be sent announcing the start of the event, and progress will be reported through daily mails, as well as daily updates on our website.

*It will probably come back as part of an offer or something.
Basic Decorations
We’ve added a few new decorations, wallpapers and floorings, available for little gold and at early levels. Except for the golden toilet skin. That one costs 1 billion gold.
Customization Colors
New colors have been added to the list. Some existing colors have been slightly modified.

Major Changes
Guild Creation
There’s a lot of guilds out there. Too many, some would argue. Joining a good guild is a vital part of a player’s Shop Titans journey, but due to the sheer quantity of them, the player base tends to get fragmented into a bunch of half-full guilds, constantly battling to acquire more members.

Starting with this update, it will no longer be possible to create a guild with gold. This option is exclusive to gems and now costs 500 (up from 200). We’ll be closely monitoring the results over the following weeks and may loosen (or tighten) these restrictions.

Minor Changes
 • Attempting to clean up a player’s shop whose version is mismatched will now automatically clear the notification and also grant you the reward. The text message will be updated shortly to better reflect this.
 • Newly acquired decorations, wallpapers and floorings are now sorted first in the list until seen by the player. No longer need to dig in there!
 • Improved the visuals of the Tier 14 enchantment icons to better match the previous tiers.
 • Extra Trophies granted by the Cooking the Books talent now look a little bit different.
 • When equipping Vanity Gear, it is now possible to choose the displayed color of Kaleidoscopic items. Finally.
 • The loading screen now features basic gameplay tips.
 • Guilds can now set a minimum investment requirement in addition to the minimum level requirement.
 • There is now a visual cue when the Crafter’s Trick and Zero Waste talents trigger.
 • Content Passes are now available starting at level 20, up from level 8.
 • Adjusted the difficulty of many Lilu Blitz Pass tasks as they were rather difficult.
 • Added a filter for Artifacts to the inventory’s Advanced Search.
 • Enchantments on items can once again be modified from the Market or Dragon Invasion menu.

Webstore Updates
Personalized Offers Support
The next phase of the webstore is almost here. Starting after the release of 17.2 — on or around August 19th — the webstore will begin supporting a selection of personalized offers. You will now be able to purchase the latest Mega and Superior Packs directly from the webstore!

During this initial rollout, the following offers will be supported:
 • Mega Packs
 • Superior Packs
 • Flashback Offers

As we look towards the future and as previously hinted, we will continue to work towards supporting more personalized offers, such as Naya offers.

King Schedule

King Reinhold will be available as a Guest Champion on August 19th, leaving on the 22nd.

Bug Fixes
 • Further fixes to artifact components on the Market.
 • Fixed a bug where the Yule’s Herald and Platinum Scepter staves shared the same power level as the Scepter of Ever-Wisdom. This reduces their stats and also removes the secondary stat from the Platinum Scepter.
 • Fixed an issue where, while attempting to reroll a skill, other mutually exclusive skills would not display as part of the possible skill list, even though they would be valid results from this reroll.
 • Fixed the Titan Spirit missing audio.
 • Fixed Lone Wolf Hood wearers receiving bonuses from Champion Skills on the Airship during Dragon Invasion.
 • Fixed a display issue that would occur when a customer already carrying an instrument would buy another instrument. Purchasing a new instrument will now overwrite the previous one.
 • Fixed a minor display issue causing icons to appear grayed out on the “Missing requirements” popup.
 • Fixed an issue where shop space could not be switched into a yard.

These release notes previously — erroneously — listed the following as changed in this release; it is instead slated for a future release:
 • Updated the visuals of the surcharge energy cost value to make it easier to read.

Version 17.1.0 Release Notes

This update is slated for release next week!

New Content
Pirate Content Pass
Are you ready, kids? I can’t hear you!

From the briny depths comes a new content pass, full of new content! For the grand prize, look forward to the barnacled Kraken Shank dagger, as well as plenty more seafaring items!

Accomplished buccaneers can also look forward to the Pirate King/Queen title, only available to those who finish every task!

This Content Pass will run for four weeks, starting on July 9th and ending on August 6th.
Polonia’s Jolly Roger
The Content Pass contains a special decoration! This pirate flag has the special ability to track Polonia’s thieving prowess and remembers how many items she’s stolen during her lifetime. Simply inspect the decoration to learn her current score.

Tracking will also happen even while the decoration is stored away. Keep in mind however that thefts prior to this update were not tracked.
Seed of Merit Fusion
It’s finally available! You can fuse your own Seeds of Merit with the following recipe:

 • 10x Seeds of Vitality
 • 10x Seeds of Power
 • 10x Seeds of Resistance
 • 3x Mega XP Drinks
 • 15x Supreme Moonstones
Blitz Pass
This new feature is exclusive to new players. We’ve actually stealthily tested it a few months back and we were happy with the results!

The Blitz Pass is a new method for fresh players to hire Champions. Upon first meeting a Champion, they’ll trigger that Champion’s Blitz Pass, which functions like a very short and rather easy Content Pass. By completing a few “tutorial” tasks, the player will earn enough Champion Coins to hire that Champion and hopefully learn a thing or two.

As of this update, the Lilu Blitz Pass is available. Sia and Yami are expected to be included soon, and other Champions may also receive Blitz Passes in the future.
New Major Artifacts
Two new Major Artifacts have been added to the Major Artifact chest. Their components are also now available.
Wyrmbane Cannon
This powerful gun is a perfect fit for Dragon Invasion! Not only is it worth 20% more points when donated, it also increases its wielder’s Dragon Invasion score by 20% when assigned to the airship.

Thankfully, it does not require Wyrmbane Cannonballs to fire.
Rock Stompers
These heavy, heavy boots are best worn by lumbering fighters. They grant a +250 Defense bonus, as well as a +25% skill bonus to Defense. Due to their weight however, the user’s evasion is set to 0% and cannot be changed.

Minor Changes
 • Champion equipment restrictions now use the same rules as Heroes do, with each item tier using the same level requirement as Heroes do. Previously, there were no restrictions at all.
 • Added a market and inventory filter for Artifact Components.

King Schedule

King Reinhold will be available as a Guest Champion on July 22nd, leaving on the 25th.

Bug Fixes
 • The Pride Heart decoration is no longer mysteriously limited to 5 per shop.
 • Fixed Ashley and Bjorn doubling the effect of Boosters during Flash Quests and Bosses, respectively.
 • Fixed Mercenaries not properly increasing the benefits of a Rest Time reduction.
 • Added audio for Tier 14 Spirits.
 • Properly fixed success rate for enchantments with mismatched qualities.
 • Fixed a Shop Edit bug that could allow players to store their last Trunk.
 • Fixed the Dragon’s Hoard not properly displaying its bonuses upon upgrade.
 • Turned the Bug Catcher’s Net built-in element into Earth affinity. Existing items should keep their Wild elements.
 • Fixed Kaleidoscopic items (affinity items that change color when enchanted, that’s what we’re calling them now) displaying as a white box when enchanted with T14 elements.
 • Fixed a bug with the Enchantment Establishment talent, causing it to increase the value higher than indicated.
 • Fixed an issue where the second enchantment on an item could provide more value than the item’s base value.
 • Fixed an issue preventing gem prices from displaying when purchasing copies of furniture obtained from offers.
 • Fixed a rare issue where an Aurasong could temporarily not be equipped on a Champion.
 • Fixed an issue where Artifact Components could appear as Bounty Board tasks.
 • Attempted fix for an issue where the shine effect could remain stuck on a reward after claiming it in event reward tracks.
 • Updated the gem cost of some Counter upgrades past level 20 as they were lower than intended.
 • Added market filters for Tier 14 spirits and the Goose Spirit.
 • Fixed the Titan Spirit restrictions displaying on unrelated skills. This was a purely visual issue.

Bug Unfixes
 • Reintroduced the Spellknight skill multiplier bug as there was no elegant way of restoring its lost stats.
