Hello Ilysians, and Happy Holidays! We are nearing time for the first Public Test Realm for the upcoming major content patch. We're pleased to announce that we've reached an important milestone in the codebase, and we are now "Feature Complete" for PTR 1. We're doing our final sanity pass on the content now, and we'll have more to say very soon after we get through the holidays. In the meantime, we're deploying a patch to extend our current Winter and Wrath of Bal'Ramos events, and to address an elusive bug that was causing mobs to run around during combat.

• We will be extending the Winter and Wrath of Bal'Ramos events as we finalize the PTR and work on the release of 0.4.0.
  
  
• Addressing the issue of mobs running wildly during combat - we have identified the root cause of the issue and deployed a fix.

Dark omens are stirring across the Isle of Aenor... Strange happenings have been reported, and a mysterious Doomsday Crier has appeared in city taverns foretelling of ominous events on the horizon.

The time has come - the Wrath of Bal'Ramos limited-time event and questline kicks off at 9:00 AM UTC on Friday, October 4th!

Team up with your fellow heroes to confront the forces threatening the isle as destructions looms... while there's still time. These are the events and updates that will lead us to the grand unveiling of brand-new lands in Ilysia, waiting to be explored and conquered!

Exclusive Event Reward & Character Reset:
As we introduce the rebalance to stats, items, and leveling in the new content coming, we'll be performing a full character reset at the end of this event to provide the best possible experience on the new continent. Your efforts won't be going unrewarded, though — players who complete the limited-time questline on Aenor during the Wrath of Bal'Ramos event will earn the prestigious "Defender of Aenor" title on their accounts. This permanent mark of valor can be used on all your characters now and in the future as part of our new title system. Claim this accolade before the event ends and let everyone know of your heroic deeds!

• New server side event functionality - World events in Ilysia can now change dynamically without needing new client builds.

• New Prestige Awards System - support for account-bound awards has been added to Ilsyia.
  
  
• New Title System - Earn, select and display titles on your characters.

• New Questline - Do your part to slow the destruction of Aenor, and earn your prestige title before time runs out.
  
  
• New World Objects - Lava Fissures have appeared on Aenor... seek them out at your own peril.
  
  
• New NPC - The Doomsday Crier now appears in every town - seek him out to take on the new challenges.
  

[h3]Event Schedule[/h3]

10/4 - The first lava fissures will open across Aenor, as the Wrath of Bal'Ramos event kicks off.
10/18 - Second fissures and quests unlock.
11/1 - Third fissures and quests unlock.
11/15 - Final fissures and quests unlock.
11/29 - The destruction of Aenor will commence, and servers will shut down at midnight.
11/30 - 12/2: Ilysia update and kickoff of new content.

• Skills you have learned now have a green ring around them in the trainer UI.

• Fire elementals now cast Fire Nova in addition to other skills.

[h3]General Fixes:[/h3]

• Made changes to Smooth Turning logic and increased base speed of rotation options.
  
  
• When a Mob is using a spell or skill, the name of the spell/skill will now be displayed on the Skill Bar.
  
  
• Quest indicators and Waydar icons have been expanded on to include a few new types.
  
  
• Waydar now shows Quest turn-in locations more clearly.
  
  
• World Quest item pick-ups should be more reliable now.
  
  
• Aegon (outside of Eurus) has been fixed and now offers his missing quest.
  
  
• Added a new Aenor Region minimap image.
  
  
• Memory management adjustments have been made in an effort to smooth out performance on Meta Quest 2. We will continue to make improvements to this for our next update.
  

[h3]New Mob:[/h3]

The Toka have been studying the magic of the Igara Shaman and are learning how to master the elements. Keep your eyes out for the new Toka Wizards - and be careful!

[h3]New Item:[/h3]

While attending GDC back in March, we were approached by our new friends from GLYTCH Energy, who were excited to meet us and wanted to collaborate on something special. We loved their ideas, and to celebrate our new partnership with GLYTCH, a special potion called Mana Surge has added to the game!

It's a brand new consumable that's been created by the Toka to help them (and hopefully you) become stronger. It can be found at certain vendors for the right price. Also, a Toka named Brewmaster Glurrch can rarely be found wandering in the wilds and he may drop one when defeated.

The real-world counterpart to the Mana Surge potion, an Ilysia-inspired energy drink with the same name created by GLYTCH, is also now available for purchase via the online GLYTCH store and in select Walmart stores across the US.

[h3]Bug Fixes:[/h3]

• Players who logout or quit the game while in a party will now be able to join another party when they come back online.
  
  
• Fixed an issue where some players would get stuck in a black void while climbing.
  
  
• Fixed an issue where Ice Elemental and Fire Elemental animations were not displaying properly.
  
  
• Ziplines no longer disable object collision - watch out for trees!
  
  
• Fonts for text have been standardized across the UI.
  

[h3]New Features:[/h3]

• The groundwork for the upcoming minimap feature is live in a new Codex tab as we collect metrics. The full map with additional features will be coming in one of our next updates. For now, the minimap will show your position on a temporary map grid.
