Soldiers: Heroes of World War II | Open Beta of New Update is Live!
Greetings, Commanders!
Not long ago, we released the first patch for Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, which includes compatibility with Windows 10 and 11, fixes to the occasional memory leaks, and many more. However, we want you to be able to play the game as smoothly as possible, so we prepared another open beta update!
Why an Open Beta?
The new update is a small but important fix for Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. There are many new or changed features and content to experience, and even though we have tested it thoroughly, we would still like to get feedback from you, our fans, and Men of War series enthusiasts to see if we missed anything that needs to be fixed or improved before we roll it out for everyone. If you decide to help us and try it out, please let us know what you think about the update here in the comments or in Steam Discussions.
How to access the update beta?
It's very simple. Go to your Steam library and find Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, right-click on the title, select Properties => Betas, and in the drop-down menu labeled Beta Participation, select "patch_beta". Your game will update, and that's it. You can opt out of the beta at any point: just follow choose NONE in the beta selection menu.

- Added enhanced Editor. Players can now edit existing maps or missions or create entirely new ones.
- Fixed a bug preventing players from saving key bind changes..
- Adjusted upscaling to scale the UI only on high resolutions and HDPI displays; the 3D scene will now render at full resolution.
- Enabled the LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE flag, allowing Soldiers.exe to use more than 2GB of RAM.
- Fixed a crash that occurred when taking savegame screenshots at high resolutions.
- Added missing localization strings for Workshop and Multiplayer sections.
- Added missing localization strings for French, Spanish, German, and Italian.
- Removed video.set from Russian localization to ensure compatibility with other languages.
