Our advanced system of unit’s damage registration is one of the key features of Cold War Game.
It takes into account many factors of armor and ammunition. You can be more successful by managing ammunition reasonably. We provide players with an option to choose both firing weapon and preferable shell to it, from available, in every single moment of the battle. Automatic projectile selection is settled by default for players who prefer not to focus on that level of tactics.
For Early Access phase we implemented three types of ammunition that differ by type of impact.
AP — Armor-piercing projectile. A sub-caliber projectile is more commonly used in the game. Projectiles of this type used for armor piercing and destruction armored targets due to their high velocity and high-density penetrator. Armor penetration of these projectiles decreases with the distance.
HE — High-explosive projectile. When the projectile detonates, it causes the explosion wave with fragmentation and blast effects. The direct hit to the target causes relatively small armor piercing impact. The projectile is mostly effective against infantry squads and light armored targets.
HEAT — High-explosive anti-tank projectile penetrates the thick tank armor due to the focused high-velocity superplastic jet. The effectiveness of the HEAT projectile doesn’t depend on its velocity and the range.
Armor penetration system of Cold War Game will be subject of our next Developer Briefing.
