Dear Community,

As some of you may have noticed, since our updates 0.5.5.1 and 0.5.5.2, branching paths in the game have been occurring more frequently and earlier than before. This introduced too much randomness to the map generation and inadvertently increased the difficulty for various playstyles due to premature branches. This was an unintended consequence of our efforts to further reduce the already low probability of a map evolving into a "spiral" scenario, which could prematurely end the game - an understandably frustrating outcome.

We've now implemented an alternative solution that allows continuing the game, even in the event of a potential spiral scenario. This adjustment ensures that map development proceeds more naturally.

Nordhold: Origins – Biggest Patch Yet!

Thank you all for your incredible support – we’ve received a ton of top-notch feedback that helped us fix critical bugs, potential exploits, and important balancing issues.

We’ve also made changes to the Trading Post meta to better align with the core vision of the game. For those of you who had gotten used to the old system, we hope you’ll bear with us! :)

NEW Content:
- Tower focus: Elite/Boss - elite or bosses can now be focussed

[h2]Buffs:[/h2]
- Magic Contract (Relic) now triggers when leaving the market, no longer when entering (which leads to give you the Effect directly when you buy it)
- Ghost Worker (Relic) no longer increases the food costs of the next workers
- Price reduction of LVL3 Upgrades for resource production buildings:
  • Vein Tracing: LVL3 60 Gold -> 55 Gold
  • Granite Grip: LVL3 60 Gold -> 55 Gold
  • Golden Fertility: LVL3 60 Gold -> 55 Gold
  • Oak crusher: LVL3 60 Gold -> 55 Gold

- Outreach First (Banner):
  • Base Range: 2.6 / 3 / 4.2 -> 2.9 / 3.6 / 5.2
  • Base Fire Rate: -15 / 13 / 10% -> -10 / 7 / 2%
  • Upgrade Range: 1.3 / 1.6 / 2.4 -> 2.1 / 2.8 / 4.9
  • Upgrade Fire Rate: +1 / 2 / 5% -> +1 / 2 / 3%

- Early Game strengthening, as some of the Meta Perk resources have been reallocated to the Start resources (+ 30 Stone, 30 Wheat, 15 Gold, 10 Wood)
This enhances skill expression in the game while providing a more engaging experience for first-time players.

[h2]Nerfs:[/h2]
- Reduction of LIGHTNING STRIKE (Spell) damage from 1000 to 900
- Lightning Surge (Banner):
  • Removal of the Extra Lightning Strike at Legendary level.
  • Adjustment of the trigger probabilities:
  • Common: 1 -> 0.9
  • Rare: 1.5 -> 1.2
  • Legendary: 1 -> 2.1

- Golden Incentive (Relic): Reduction in gold rewards per tower construction from 4 to 3. Reduction in resources recovered per tower demolition from 20% to 10%.
- Trading Post:
  • Starting Price Control: Set starting trading price to 6/4 for wave 1.
  • Inflation System: After trading, prices will be inflated for the next 3 waves, worsening the trade rates (+1 to buy prices, -1 to sell prices).

Probabilities changed from a 33% per buy/sell rate and addition of another level:
  • Buy: 8 (15%), 7 (45%), 6 (25%), 5 (15%)
  • Sell: 2 (15%), 3 (45%), 4 (25%), 5 (15%)

[h2]Adjustments:[/h2]
- Leaderboard score calculation: Wave progress is rewarded more. Economy therefore carries less weight. The rank thresholds have been adjusted accordingly.
- Leaderboard Opt-Out: Added a feature to no longer participate in the leaderboard if desired
- Minor UI and translation changes

[h2]Improvements:[/h2]
- Add a warning window when trying to build the brewery without the tavern
- Tower Demolish Hint: Display of specific return resources
- Volcano Mortar aiming optimized (can better predict the future now)
- Worker Hire Hint: Display of all next worker prices
- Fixed problems with the display and execution of tower upgrades
- Fixed a bug where you had a higher range when hovering over the range upgrade button
- Fixed a calculation bug from Spell Damage when several factors come together at the same time
- Mac optimisation: VFX for the Mac have been optimized (Arc Tower projectiles, Volcano Mortar projectiles, Arcane Explosion)
- UI optimization: Switching between towers is now a little faster (new tower window opens directly instead of closing the previous one first)
