One Box One Goal News

NEW UPDATE

I’ve added small but helpful safe zones above the map to make your journey a bit less punishing. These zones will slightly reduce the chance of falling all the way back to 0 meters, giving you a little extra chance to recover. However, don’t expect them to be huge, these safe zones are designed to offer just a small window of help, not a free ride!

🤔 Difference Between 2D Getting Over It and my game:
The main difference between the 2D and my version of the game is the perspective and the complexity of movement. In 3D, the world feels much more dynamic, giving you a broader view and more freedom to explore. But this also makes it harder to control the hammer precisely, with depth and angles adding a whole new layer of challenge. It’s a different experience, one that tests your patience and skills in a way that feels both rewarding and frustrating.

❓ Why sometimes i sent back all the way down?
One thing to note about the 3D version: it's not possible to add as many safe zones underneath as Bennett Foddy did in the 2D version. In 3D, you can fall in any direction, and even a small mistake could send you flying too high, potentially skipping past the safe zones altogether. The complexity of movement means there’s more room for error, but also more room for you to improve with practice.

This game is all about patience., is not for everyone. It’s designed for those who have patience and persistence, as it will test both. Every fall, every setback, is part of the process. If you’re not ready for this challenge, it’s best to step back. But if you’re determined and willing to put in the time, you’ll improve with every try.

With enough practice, you’ll learn to control the hammer more fluidly, and soon you’ll be swinging it as effortlessly as a gymnast flipping through the air.

Stay patient, keep practicing, and don’t give up, you’ll improve with every try!

Lastly, the game is not designed to be played with a gamepad, you can use it, but you may run into issues. Gamepad support will improve with updates, for the best experience, use a mouse and keyboard.

🚀 RELEASE DATE! 📦🏔️

Hey everyone!

I’m beyond excited (and honestly a little nervous) to finally announce that One Box One Goal is releasing on February 17[ on Steam! This game has been a huge project for me, and if you love games like Getting Over It, then you’re in for a wild ride, except this time, in 3D.

🎮 What’s One Box One Goal?
It’s a rage-inducing, skill-based climbing game where you control a character inside a cardboard box, using a hammer to navigate the 3D environment. Every movement matters, every mistake can send you plummeting back down. It’s tough, frustrating, and (hopefully) rewarding, just the way these games should be.

🔥 What to Expect:
A true test of patience and precision (you will fall, a lot).
A fully 3D world with tricky terrain and vertical challenges.
Perfect for streaming, speedrunning, and suffering with friends.
No checkpoints, no hand-holding, just pure determination.
Leaderboards.
I’d love for you to check it out, add it to your wishlist, and maybe even share it with a friend who enjoys a good challenge. This game is my take on the genre, and I can’t wait to see how far you can make it!

See you at the top... or at the bottom. 😈
