Path of Exile 2's boss fights have me wondering if it's even fair to compare them to Diablo 4's… I'm not sure I can even call them boss fights now. One game pits you against monsters designed to challenge your build and your reflexes and the other gives you treasure chests with health bars. I love a lot about Diablo 4, but its bosses are just obstacles between me and my loot, whereas Path of Exile 2's bosses are the whole reason I can't stop playing it...

If there's one point of feedback I've heard most from the roughly 300,000 people who, at any given moment, have been playing Path of Exile 2 since its early access launch, it's that we simply need more drops. That sprawling passive skill tree is only so satisfying to meddle with if you aren't getting the gear to make your build sing, and meager loot has left some PoE 2 players swinging the same sad club for upwards of a dozen levels. Luckily, Grinding Gear Games says it'll be loosening the loot tap, promising increased drops in an upcoming patch alongside tweaks to dodging and map checkpoints...

I'm around 20 hours into Path of Exile 2 and all my gear sucks. I'm wearing clothes even a zombie would refuse to wear with bonuses I'm not even sure I can tell are doing anything. There are so many different stats in this game and most of them don't seem to be that important when you're still below level 30. I'm not exactly suffering when it comes to clearing dungeons and PoE 2 might be one of the best action RPGs I've played, but the loot situation is kind of a drag this far in...
