The Legacy of Phrecia is Extended - Tentative Timeline for 3.26 Expansion

The Legacy of Phrecia event in Path of Exile 1 is in full swing! Due to its popularity within the community we are extending the event by a month until April 23rd PDT.

If you feel this extra month will not be enough to try out the builds you wanted, you’ll be able to further experiment with the Phrecia content with a set of Private League templates that we'll be making available at no cost!

After the end of the event on April 23rd, we’ll be adding a list of these Private League templates which will be available for a month. Each Private League template will have a limit of 20,000 player slots and you will be able to create as many as you want while they’re available. We’ll reveal more details as well as the full list of Private League templates in a few weeks.

We would also like to share a tentative timeline for the 3.26 expansion. We are looking to launch the expansion in June, so you might expect us to begin talking about it some time after the end of Legacy of Phrecia. We have solid plans for 3.26 and we’re sure you’ll love it. Stay tuned!

Legacy of Phrecia Launch Highlights

The Legacy of Phrecia event is well underway, and we've loved seeing the crazy new creations players have been putting together. Check out some of the highlights from launch in today's news post on the Path of Exile website, which you can find here!

Path of Exile 1 is suddenly beating PoE 2 on Steam as GGG transforms the endgame

It's a great strategy from Grinding Gear Games, keeping both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 alive and fresh at the same time. If you love the original ARPG and don't want to jump ship for the sequel, that's fine. If you want to throw all your weight behind the new PoE, that's fine, too - you can even play both. Originally, Path of Exile 1 was scheduled to go quiet for a while so GGG could focus on PoE 2. But the opposite has happened. Thanks to an emergency, 'experimental' event, Legacy of Phrecia, Path of Exile 1 has just overtaken its younger sibling on Steam.

Celebrate the Legacy of Phrecia Start with New Cosmetic Bundles

Celebrate the start of the Legacy of Phrecia event in style with a selection of cosmetic bundles themed around alternate Ascendancy Classes. Face the Emperor in full glory and prove yourself worthy!

Most of the bundles contain a full armour set as well as extra cosmetic effects that come at a bigger discount than we usually offer in our daily deals rotation. The bundles will be available for the duration of the Legacy of Phrecia event, so don’t miss out on them. Check out the full selection here!

In case you need more points to spend on the bundles, the Settlers of Kalguur Supporter Packs are still available in the store and coincidentally enough one of them already comes with a full Armour Set themed around Paladin! In addition, all Supporter Packs contain a set of exclusive microtransactions that will not be available for purchase ever again once they leave the store. Take a look at the contents of these packs below:

This weekend we’re also offering one free Settlers Mystery Box when you spend any amount of points in the store in Path of Exile 1 or Path of Exile 2. This means you can purchase a glorious new look or any other microtransaction and receive one Settlers Mystery Box as a gift from us. The offer is available now on both PC and Consoles now and will end at 12pm February 24th PST.

Please note: it's only possible to get one free Settlers Mystery Box from this promotion. Making additional microtransaction purchases will not grant additional mystery boxes. Purchasing a supporter pack will not grant a free Mystery Box but spending points from a supporter pack can grant a free Mystery Box. Please also note that while it’s currently not possible to open the free box in Path of Exile 2, you will still receive it and should be able to open it in Path of Exile 1 client or just wait until we add support for Mystery Boxes in Path of Exile 2 (which should not take long).

Players who have unlocked all microtransactions from the Settlers Mystery Box will receive two Polaris Mystery Boxes instead.

If you’re looking for a truly grim outfit as well as some more Mystery Boxes to open, this season’s Kirac’s Vault Pass has it all! The Vault Pass is enabled in the Legacy of Phrecia event, so exploring the Atlas with the Idols system will not only bring you tons of fun but also earn pieces of the exclusive Rot Shaman Armour Set and other bonuses. Find out more about the Kirac’s Vault Pass here.

Thanks for your ongoing support! We hope you enjoy the Legacy of Phrecia event!

As Path of Exile 2 rolls on, PoE 1's lead dev may have left Grinding Gear Games

Between Last Epoch, Diablo 4, Lost Ark, and dozens of others, there's a lot of competition in the ARPG world right now. Slick mechanics and eye-catching design help you stand out, but developers will tell you that the secret to success is having a good bond with your community. The launch of Path of Exile 2 has been occasionally bumpy, but largely, Grinding Gear Games still gets a lot of love from its players. Chris Wilson, who served as lead designer and co-director on the original PoE, has been a mainstay on GGG forums and became the 'face' of the studio during the original game's creation. However, official documents suggest Wilson may have left.
