Luminous Skies: A Short Adventure News

A new rest zone is now available in the south of the Western Outpost. It was a Temple that was long abandoned by the human inhabitants of the region. The Temple of Light has begun to restore the location to its former glory. Additionally, the temple laymen have given sanctuary to the werminn in the region.



A new quest is now available in the world that was released last week. Lina needs to be in the party and the player needs to complete 3 conversations with her (one in a camp north just north of Thorn Creek and two more in the Clear Lake Settlement on the Eastern Frontier on the old world's mainland eastern frontier). After that, head through the portal to the Werminn Camp and head into the medical tent to start the quest.



For Luminous Skies: Interstellar Update we added a new conversation with Nori. This is assuming that the player has already engaged with her on two other conversations.

I thought I was done making major zones to explore for Luminous Skies: A Short Adventure and Horizons but they dragged me back in...



You heard that right. A new exploration zone with 5 dungeons to explore has been made available to everyone, even if you haven't paid for anything. This zone can be accessed through a newly accessible world gate just north of Winterholme. The player will get to explore an area affecting by the aftermath of the events in Luminous Skies: The Unveiled Shroud, which is my submission for Pirate Software's 15th game jam. This takes place after those events, so there will be spoilers if you go in there before playing The Unveiled Shroud.

The primary function of these areas has been repurposed to give the player more easier zones to explore before tackling areas rated at the Harder difficulty level [rec. lvl. 55+]. This is largely due to the fact that there was a severe gap in difficulty between the intermediate and harder dungeons.

Additionally, random loot drops have been added to these new areas. This includes players for Luminous Skies: A Short Adventure [though it should be noted that the loot selection is limited compared to players with Horizons installed as there are more weapon types available to use and more variety for paid users].

New quests Luminous Skies: Horizons
"Way of the Warrior" starts in Kazuko Temple and is only available if they have completed the quest "An Eye for an Eye" and the follow-up training session at the Frostwind campsite.

"Path of Wisdom" starts in the Town of Dawa's Inn and it is only available after completing the quest "Summoning Lair" which is part of a multipart quest regarding the Mages Academy.

A conversation should open up at ??? [it's a surprise], if the player has befriended Milla.

We have a big update for Luminous Skies: Horizons. Two new worlds and outposts open. Heading over to the Royal Fort south of their Capitol on the mainland will give you access to these new zones.

New exploration zones added to the Eastern Outpost world and a small secret as well.

New Item:
Book of Character Swap [Briar]: a portable book can now be acquired so that the main character [Briar] can now swap outside of dungeons. Visit Citra's estate and interact with the book on the table in her study to get it.

New Party Member:
Bianka, the cleric, can be found in the Clear Lake Tavern. She's based off of an early character design that ended up being radically different from what the character ended up becoming (similar to Cass).

4 Questlines:

Southern Outpost Questlines:
Uncovering Syl's past: in order to start this quest the player will need to have completed the quest "Rising Flames" and the follow up conversation with Syl in the Imperial Capitol. Then the player will need to travel to the Southern Royal Outpost and then head west to Phoenix Ember Encampment to start the quest.

Town of Night Rest Questline: head to the Southern Outpost and visit the town of Night Rest with Citra in the party to start. I got the idea for this quest line when I was talking to another developer about game design. So I do my best to take feedback and get new ideas, it just might take a minute and I might end up going in an unexpected direction.

Western Questlines:
The Regent's Ambitions: visiting Taisa's Burrow with Taisa, Geir, and Cass in the player's party will allow them to start the quest line.

The Ronin Questline: visiting Eiji City with Bianka in the party will start this quest line.



Fixed a bug where one of the journal entries stayed in the character's inventory after the quest ended [The Ritual Tower]. If this is the case for your saves, visiting Citra's estate and going into the basement and interacting with the right zone should bring up the troubleshooting menu [Pictured.]
