Welcome to the latest developer’s log for Aeruta!

After the holiday break, we jumped straight back into development, working on both the upcoming spring update and new content. We almost ran out of time to write the February dev log… 🙇💦

    Let’s give a warm round of applause (and some excited screams) for the hero among heroes—
    our divine goddesses!

    Kocori and Tyreenss have officially arrived in Bakersfield!
    (Though Kocori has been sneaking around for a while…)

    The approachable and friendly Kocori, the cold yet dignified Tyreenss—how will they interact with the other residents?
    What kind of story will unfold between them and Chaya?

    Let’s take a sneak peek at the development of contents for the full release!

    Chaya's next adventure is to an ancient ruin abandoned long ago.
    Once a thriving city, it was tragically destroyed from war.
    Now moss, ivy, and mushrooms have overgrown and covered the walls and ground.


    Wait a second… did you hear that low growl in the wind…?
    Have these ruins truly been abandoned?
    Or is someone secretly watching intruders?

    You’re not gonna want to miss this! Aspiring heroes, get ready to wield the third weapon—
    the rapier! (We’re not stealing it, just borrowing!)

    The rapier is a thin, razor-sharp blade as swift as the rising crescent moon and as elegant as the full moon’s glow. Designed for rapid thrusts and precision attacks,

    it’s the perfect weapon for those who want to push their speed and skill to the limit! ⚔️✨


  • [h3]New Feature: Q&A Corner![/h3]
    We often see bug reports and questions from the community on social media and the Steam forums.

    However, due to our workload and language limitations, we haven’t always been able to respond to everyone individually…

    So! To better address your concerns, we’re launching a Q&A Corner!

    Here, we’ll compile and answer some of the most frequently asked questions:
    1. Will there be an achievement system in the future?
      👉 Yes! Please look forward to it!
    2. Will there be additional stage modes?
      👉 Yes! New stage modes will be added in the full release. We hope you’ll look forward to it!
    3. The difficulty of Chapter 2 spikes suddenly—is this intentional?
      👉 We’ve adjusted some adventure stages and hope to improve this in the upcoming spring update!
    4. What species are the villagers introduced in the autumn update?
      👉 Guinea pigs! Most of them work under Tyreenss, though having a workaholic boss is…
      a bit stressful for them (lol)
    5. Will new songs be added to the rhythm game?
      👉 Our focus is currently on developing new content, but we’ll definitely consider it!


Overwhelmingly, the question we received more than any other was: “When will the game officially release?”

At this time, we are still in the midst of development, so we don’t have a complete view of the development schedule just now.

We will keep you guys updated on the progress in our dev logs, so please look forward to further updates!

Last but not least, looking back at January, we wrapped up the Taipei Game Show on a high note and returned from the New Year holidays refreshed and motivated.

Offline events like these are rare and valuable opportunities—not only do we get to hear your feedback firsthand, but we also get to witness players enjoying Aeruta in person. Some of you even visited us just to share your excitement about the game—it was truly an unforgettable experience! 🥺🧡

And as for the merchandise that many of you have been asking for… we want to make it too!
Bread-shaped sponges, Patti figurines, real-life bread replicas… Just imagining it all is so exciting!

But for now, ensuring Aeruta is at its best quality is our main goal! 🦊👍

Hello everyon! This is the Aeruta development team🔆
Welcome to Vol. 4 of the official Aeruta dev log!

This might be a bit late, but Happy New Year to you all!🎉

With the start of a new year, development for Aeruta is progressing full steam ahead.
We’re currently working on a small spring update and the long-awaited official release!

  • [h3]Spring update, goddesses’ stories🌸[/h3]
    Ahh, spring… new life is budding, the sun is gentle, the leaves are young and fragrant, and cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
    It’s the perfect season to make friends!


    During this picturesque season, we will implement friendship events with the friendly goddesses, who we all admire so much.
    How did the cheerful and bright Kocori and the stern yet calm Tyreenss become goddesses?
    Strengthen your bonds with them and all will be revealed!💙❤


  • [h3]New area incoming! Our next destination is…[/h3]
    Following Chaya’s adventures in Merca and Orrindae, our hero will travel to the next stage: ancient and bustling ruins.
    It will be a stage full of ●●●●●, ×××××, and plenty of △△△△△!
    It’s sure to be a new and exciting experience, with even more dangers and delicious attractions!

    The whole team is currently hard at work designing all the new environments, enemies, and ingredients. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with all of you!

  • [h3]The 1st Character Popularity Ranking: Bakersfield Cup![/h3]
    During the Steam Playtest held November last year, we compiled and ranked your favorite characters from the survey🏆

    So let’s take a look at who captured everyone's hearts in the 1st Character Popularity Ranking !
    🎉

    🥉 3rd place: Chilala
    Despite her late appearance in the game after the fall major update, her adorable appearance and remarkable genius (and numerous eccentricities) garnered her a lot of attention, rightfully earning her third place!
    It seems many were charmed by this young genius!🎀

    🥈 2nd place: Effie
    You can't go on an adventure without a loaf of Effie’s bread!
    The kid bear who always supports Chaya and friends in their adventures ranked second place!
    Effie lost her parents when she was a small child, but inherited the family bakery. Thanks to her inner strength and natural cheerfulness, she diligently continues to research new bread recipes.
    The warm loaves of bread she makes are as soft and comforting as hot cocoa with marshmallows on a winter day!☕️

    🏆 1st place: Chaya
    The winner is none other than the main character of our story, thanks to the overwhelming support of everyone who voted!
    As a rookie adventurer she may be a little out of her element now and then, but her positive and kind nature as well as her courage in the face of difficulty proves her potential to be a hero (though she’s not quite there yet)!

We worked as hard as we could in 2024, and just like firewood in its final moments, we are officially “burn out.”
As such, we will be taking a week off for Lunar New Year 2025! (Hooray! 🎉)

because we’ll be exhibiting at the 2025 Taipei Game Show on January 23rd!🍞

Dev Log #3: Dec.2024

Hello everyone, this is the Aeruta development team🔆
Welcome to Volume 3 of the Aeruta Dev Log!

Following the Fall Major Update in November, have you all gotten into the “rhythm” of kneading bread dough? 🥖

Just as we sow seeds in the spring and harvest them in the fall, we had finally reached the time to welcome our first major update, exactly six months after releasing early access!

Sorry for the long wait, but how about we take a quick look back at everything the fall update

[h3]◾ Holding a Steam Playtest before the official Fall Major Update![/h3]
Prior to the big update, we held a Steam Playtest for three days to collect all your valuable feedback.
We were overjoyed to receive a total of 114 completed surveys!

These surveys were filled with valuable opinions, creative ideas, tons of encouragement,
and most importantly, real impressions of the gameplay experience.
Some of you gave us such in-depth analysis it was like reading a graduation thesis 📝

Additionally, many people actively shared bug reports and insights on Discord.
It was thanks to the help of all of these people that we were able to make our Fall Major Update
even better! ✨

We had also received some feedback that the Playtest was too short! We’d like to let you all know we’re sorry for that and we’ll be more considerate next time!


[h3]◾ As the harvest season begins, a major update is ready🍁 [/h3]
Looking back, we are amazed at the incredible reception of the update😲
Following the update, the total number of reviews we received from you on Steam exceeded 350
and the “Recent Reviews” reached 98%, so we are very happy that so many of you enjoyed the update!

To celebrate this delightful achievement, we held a big celebration in the studio, ordering fried chicken for the whole team for the first time in a long time 🍗✨

Let's take a look at all the wonderful things that happened, shall we!

🦊 Maintained user ratings at “Very Positive” and increased the favorability rate from 87% to 89%
🦊 More than 400 people added Teddy Bread to their wish list every day
🦊 Over 600 people were fighting to pay off their debt in Bakersfield daily


[h3]◾ Further changes based on your feedback![/h3]
In addition to the planned contents such as the second island, new characters,
and raising the level cap for various systems, we made various changes based on your feedback
in this update.

Here’s an overview of the changes we made!

🍞 NPC elements (additional conversation variations, gifts, friendship system, meeting characters during adventures)
🍞 Added “Patti Defense Battle,” a stage great for collecting lots of patti dough!
🍞 Addition of icon to notify completion of skill cooldowns
🍞 Addition of numerical display of materials in your possession in the stage selection map UI
🍞 Added window resolution options for various ratios

Besides this, many other design adjustments and improvements were also made thanks to your valuable feedback.

[h3]◾ Development plans for 2025 are now available![/h3]
Following the adventures on the second island, even more trials await on Chaya’s road to heroism…
The Aeruta Crystal has been stolen by a mysterious black mist, and the Adventurer's Guild has a conflict with the goddesses.

Will Chaya successfully pass the Adventurer’s test and graduate from being a rookie adventurer?

💥 All will be revealed come 2025! 💥.

Around next spring, we plan to add friendship events for the goddesses! Get ready to conquer their hearts!

And what’s more, we plan to implement a third island by the end of 2025.
Not only will a third weapon option be made available, but a very interesting system is also
in the works…

There’s so much to look forward to✨


November was full of busy days preparing for the major update, so unfortunately the development diary took a temporary break... but during this period, preparations were well underway behind the scenes!
When it finally comes time to pick up the pen, it's pretty hard to know where to start talking, though.

We wanted to share with you all the feelings of joy and gratitude we’ve felt, behind-the-scenes development stories, trivia, our personal thoughts on Aeruta, and answer some of your survey questions…

We really had so much more we wanted to tell you, but we’ll be sharing even more in the future🌻


With the little bit of 2024 that remains, a few weeks ago we took our rolling pins to the G-eight gaming exhibition in Taiwan. There was an adventurer at the event who breathed a sigh of relief after defeating Birdy Captain then turned to us and said, “I've been so busy with work before New Year's Eve I haven't had time to play the updated content at all...'

Aeruta Early Access Ver.0.2.1 Update!

Hello everyone!

Thank you for playing the Early Access version of Aeruta.
Today at 18:00 (JST) the game has been updated to the latest version.

The contents of the update are as follows:

[h2]■12/17/2024Ver.0.2.1 Patch Note[/h2]
[h3]Additions[/h3]
  • A record player has been added to the second floor of the bakery. Rhythm games can be re-played here.
  • A new song “Merca Forest” was added to the rhythm game.
  • Ten new stages have been added to the second island.
  • When selecting a map, the number of materials available in that map are now displayed.
  • When developing the village or renovating the bakery, the effect of the next level is now displayed.
  • Bakery helpers now clean up trash. (So helpful!)
  • A button to cancel checkout is now displayed when you're running the bakery.

[h3]Balance Adjustments[/h3]
  • The effect of the village facility “streetlight” has been enhanced. It further improves the patience of customers.
  • Each facility in the village that increases the number of customer visits has been modified to also increase the maximum waiting line for checkout.
  • Changed the quantity of gifts required when raising the likelihood of a fellow member to raise NPC friendship levels.
  • The effect of the additional ability of the rolling pin, “Passive Chaos,” was changed so that it is activated one second after the dough reaches the maximum limit.
  • The additional ability “Secondary Target” speed at which the rolling pin flies toward the enemy has been slowed.
  • Changed the size of the skill “Rolling Pin Cyclone” so that when the “Enticing Aroma ” additional ability is used it attracts even more enemies
  • The limit for accumulating dough for the drive skill when attacking multiple monsters with the “Rolling Pin Cyclone” skill has been changed to 10 doughs.
  • The whip skill “Spiral Leap” has been changed so that it can attack downward even if you have not learned the additional ability “Blossom Whirl” (so strong!)
  • The cooldown time reduction effect of the badge “Stabby Crab's Instinctive Dodge” has been fixed at 3.5 seconds.
  • The damage reduction rate for the badge “Summer Clam's Sudden Insight” has been changed from 3% to 2.5% and the maximum reduction rate from 75% to 50%.
  • The number of times thorn balls can be reflected with the badge “Shooty Crab's Rolling Spikes” has been changed to unlimited, and the maximum number of hits to the same target has been adjusted from one to three to reduce the speed.
  • A cooldown (3 seconds) has been added to the HP recovery effect of the badge “Bonkfish's Sonic Wave.”
  • The effect of the badge “Ponkfish's Inspiration” has been changed so that the shield is no longer earned when a patti tribe is defeated.
  • In the main quest “Save Tyreenss,” the quantity of each material required for progress has been changed.
  • Wood: From 5 pieces to 50 pieces.
  • Ponkfruit: From 3 pieces to 10 pieces.
  • Patti dough: From 100 pieces to 300 pieces.

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed an issue that prevented some monsters from attacking Chaya in certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue where the gift would disappear if the screen was quickly closed when a gift was given.
  • Fixed a problem in which the position of the “Chilala's Genius Lab” was incorrect when the building was completed.
  • Fixed a problem in which the effect of the badge “Stabby Crab's Sideways Movement” was not activating correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the damage of the badge “Shooty Crab's Rolling Spikes” was higher than expected.
  • Fixed an issue where after the boss “Patti King” splits in two, if the left side “King Patty” was knocked down during the fall, the right side “Patti King” would not move.


Aeruta will continue to improve and modify existing content and tweak new content based on your comments.
