10/10 indie game hits new heights on Steam after big free update

Pizza Tower just dropped a free patch in the form of The Noise update, where you can play as one of the platformer's bosses in a pseudo-New Game Plus mode. The Game Awards nominee has also seen its highest ever Steam player count alongside the update, so now's the time to try it if you never have.

The Noise Update!

The long-awaited Noise Update is finally here! Bringing you The Noise in all his glory in the form of a pseudo New Game+, revisiting the events of Pizza Tower through the eyes of the yellow gremlin, with perhaps a few twists along the way.

No patch notes for this one.

P.S: If you had any mods installed before this or modified the files in any capacity you MIGHT get a crash. If you do have one please delete (not uninstall) all the files in your installation folder, then right click the game and go under Properties -> Installed Files and then click the Verify Files button.

Tasty platformer Pizza Tower's free new character will bring "a sort of New Game+" experience

One game I heard and saw a lot last year but absolutely did not play was Pizza Tower, a fast and fiendish platformer inspired by the Wario Land games. A lot of people seem delighted to rocket around in the colourful adventures of pizzeria proprietor Peppino Spaghetti. People who are younger than me. People whose hands aren't gnarled claws. People who don't have one foot in the grave. It'll happen to you too. In the meantime, I hope you've enjoyed it, and suspect you might be keen to see more of the new playable character coming free in a future update.

Pizza Tower might be the best 2D platformer I've played since Hollow Knight, and if you want to restrict that to non-metroidvanias, I gotta go back to 2014's Shovel Knight for anything this good. A year after launch, developer Tour de Pizza now seems close to adding a long-promised mode where you play as one of the game's main bosses...
