Castle Crashers Steam Update 2.9.1

I am in your castle...squashing bugs...

Welcome back to the realm for a quick fix!

We've updated the game to use Steam's DirectX installation feature. This will help new users who are having DirectX installation issues with Win10 and Win11.

May your Castles be Crashed, but not because of this bug in particular. Thanks to all you knights and princesses and penguins for sending in the reports that helped us in catching and fixing this.

Announcing the Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise DLC!

Castle Crashers Painter Boss Paradise, the CCPBP if you will, is coming soon to Steam as paid DLC! The update will include:

Steam workshop capabilities – create your own knight skins, choose your magic, and share with the world!
New official character: play as Paint Junior, use your imagination, and create powerful art to vanquish your foes!
New player and weapon artwork for all official playable characters (with an option to toggle on or off).
Play as ANYTHING you want in Castle Crashers! But keep in mind Steam guidelines, please. :)

16 years after launch, Castle Crashers bounces back on Steam

First launched in 2008, delightful 2D hack-and-slash action game Castle Crashers was a highlight of Microsoft's first Xbox Summer of Arcade. Its chaotic co-op combat made it a fast and firm favorite among friend groups everywhere, and that only enhanced when it arrived on Steam in 2012. Now, 16 years after its original release, Castle Crashers is making a comeback on Steam - and you can jump in for less than two dollars.
