Quick Fix

Fix bug where the toy rides might not release the Critter and cause issues with them appearing to still be on the ride as they wander around.

Quick Fix

Fix issue where player was sometimes jumping after closing UI windows.

Big Patch Fix Build 219. Movement, Lag/Performance and Polish.

Huge redesign of the character controller for jumping and movement to fix the "janky" issues that were reported. Improves control while changing direction after looking around with mouse, smoothed out running while using controller, fixed "floating feel" of the jump. Allow more control so you can change directions while jumping. Thanks to everyone who helped with feedback to improve the overall control feel and get it up to the standards that are needed for Critter Cove, sorry this took so long to get fixed but wanted to do it right and not just hack something in.

Big improvements in performance, especially lag spikes, especially later in the game when you have lots of characters and tourists running around doing stuff. The overall impact here is that frame rate should feel more even now ie less spikes and smoother game play.

Better all around path finding with less teleporting (work in progress still one more final pass to do in the next update to stop this completely). Should mostly avoid going inside items like fish tanks or phonebooths as tourists. You could see this happen when a tourists went to a fish tank to photo it and would stand in the middle of the tank.

Path and movements walking/running for the critters cleanup and improvements. Critter avoidance and smoothing has been improved.

Fix random soft lock while trying to sleep.

Fix path finding in furniture store so characters do not walk through walls.

Fixed bug with pirate outfit and full inventory so it does not lose items.

Change animations and showing character in inventory while underwater, will not stand up now et.

Characters while swimming will stay in the swim idle position instead of standing up while doing some animations et. This was the cause of a lot of weird janky visuals while doing actions underwater.

Critters should not be taking off their clothing randomly now but should always have pants on and mostly shirts (some characters are designed to be shirtless occasionally). Happened alot when going from store shop job outfits to normal or after it rains.

Critters should be riding the rides correctly now. Also talking to characters riding rides will not have them standup on them.

Fix for frozen Copperbottom. In some cases Coppperbottom was being set back into his frozen state with no way to unfreeze him (this was unintentional at this time). In a future update it would not be a bug but intended.

Arlo was missing a liked job(s) this has been fixed.

More language fixes for dialog and in game prompts.

Fix Duplicate player characters displayed after showing the treasure map.

If a player has a tool equipped and then tries to interact with an object (in this case dumbells) we fixed some strange animation issues.

Character height was changing after getting on boat or horse ride. This has now been fixed.

Many other minor jank visual fixes and improvements.

Expanding the World of Critter Cove

"Ahoy Critters!

We wanted to share what’s coming up for those who have recently joined the community, and even brand new information for those who’ve been hanging with us for a while. Consider it an early Christmas present.

New Enchanted Biome Screenshots

In our new enchanted biome, players will be exploring the remains of a research facility from the old world and uncovering the history of the entire archipelago.

We’ve already sprinkled many small stories about the time before around the existing map, but this facility will reveal more than ever about the old world. Plus, set across four large, detailed islands, and a number of underwater POIs, we expect our next update to expand the world space by nearly 50%!

More Than Just Islands

As usual, there’s loads to organically explore in the new biome, but just like in our original Early Access launch, we’re working equally hard to make sure there’s plenty of authored quests and new characters to hang out with.

Each island has its own scenario to work through, as well as new quests from villagers that will send you across the ocean, alongside new content from Meowise. And we'll be adding Steam achievements to the game for the first time, giving you even more reasons to see and experience everything the update has to offer.

Expanding Your Town

Of course the main game won’t be neglected in our big update. We’ll be expanding the town with the addition of the bakery and gym, including new customer and employee interactions.

Woolington is also eager to open a brand new wing of the museum to accommodate all of the new artifacts found in the new biome, and new crops, flowers and treasures to discover and cultivate!

Rather than promise dates, we’ll announce this one when we’re ready in the new year, but with some players finding over 50+ hours of gameplay already, there’s plenty of Critter Cove to explore before the new update, and of course, all saves will continue to carry over in early access!

And finally… if you read this far a little surprise… you’ll be able to grab a piece of special holiday headwear in the game if you log in during the festive season…

See you on the island!"
