[Notice] Global Open Beta Notice



You've waited a long time, Survivors.

The DARKEST DAYS Global Open Beta is slated to start on April 24, 2025.
Unlike previous tests, this open beta will be provided without any time or content restrictions, so that you can continue playing until the official release.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for their warm interest and anticipation during the several pre-launch tests conducted so far.
Our DARKEST DAYS team will do our best to prepare for the day we can meet you through our open beta so that you may experience a more exciting apocalyptic world.
Also, if you pre-register through the official website, you'll be able to receive an apocalypse survival essential - a taxi - so pre-register now if you haven't already!

Hello, Survivors.

First, we want to express our gratitude for the overwhelming response to our recent demo. We've received a wide range of feedback, and our team has been carefully reviewing your thoughts and questions.
To address some of the most frequently asked topics, we've gathered responses from our developers. Check them out below!


[h3]Q1. How long will it take to complete the development of the game?[/h3]
A2 The DARKEST DAYS team is committed to improving the gameplay experience based on feedback from the recent Steam Next Fest. We're excited to return with the Open Beta Test (OBT) at the end of April!
Our focus will be on refining the game further based on player feedback during OBT. Once we’re confident that DARKEST DAYS delivers the best possible experience for all survivors, we will announce the official release date. Stay tuned!

[h3]Q2. Questions about various Language Support?[/h3]
A2. Based on feedback from demo participants, our development team is considering adding support for French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, and more. This is in addition to languages already supported during the Steam Next Fest.
We’re excited to welcome survivors from around the world and will continue expanding language support to make DARKEST DAYS more accessible to everyone.

[h3]Q3. From the Demo experience, the gameplay was mainly single-player. Are there any plans to make it co-op in the future?[/h3]
A3. The Co-op defense mode (Lonetree Tunnel) and Co-op raid mode (Dusk Garden) were designed with long-term expansion in mind. What players experienced during the Steam Next Fest was just a small preview.
We plan to introduce new maps and a variety of bosses with unique mechanics to keep survivors engaged with fresh challenges.
Additionally, we are actively developing strategic Guild content for members to enjoy together. Stay tuned for more details in the future!

[h3]Q4. Are there any plans to further optimize performance for more devices?[/h3]
A4. Optimization is a top priority for our development team, and we are continuously working to improve it. We will keep monitoring performance to ensure players can enjoy DARKEST DAYS smoothly.

[h3]Q5. Are there any games that were used as inspiration for DARKEST DAYS?[/h3]
A5. We drew inspiration from various games during the development of DARKEST DAYS. As many survivors have noted, State of Decay was a key influence in shaping zombie behavior and interaction mechanics.
Our development team consists of passionate gamers who have played and created various shooter genres, including State of Decay, Borderlands, Fallout, The Division, and PUBG.
While these games have influenced us, we are dedicated to ensuring that DARKEST DAYS stands out with its own unique identity.

[h3]Q6. I enjoy driving in games and enjoy the ability to be able to drive my vehicle "off-road" in DARKEST DAYS. Are there any plans to allow players access to more vehicles and the ability to upgrade them? If so, what will access to vehicles and upgrades look like?[/h3]
A6. Vehicle upgrades can be performed at the Parking Facility in the Shelter using the Vehicle Enhancement Tool.
Materials needed for upgrades can be collected through various in-game activities, allowing survivors to enhance their vehicles for greater speed, durability, and overall survival efficiency in the apocalyptic world.
Upgrading vehicles will serve as another key progression goal, and we plan to continue adding new vehicles to give Survivors even more options.

[h3]Q7. Is there going to be a clan system, where I can enjoy with friends?[/h3]
A7. We are developing a Guild system to foster stronger bonds and enhance strategic gameplay. This feature will allow survivors to create a Guild with friends or join an existing one, offering deeper and more cooperative gameplay experiences.
As the Guild system is still in development, we can’t share all the details just yet. Stay tuned for more updates in the future!

[h3]Q8. Is this game more focused on Action or Survival?[/h3]
A8. We believe that both action and survival are essential elements of DARKEST DAYS. Rather than prioritizing one over the other, we aim to balance both to ensure an engaging and exciting experience.
DARKEST DAYS is designed to offer continuous growth for players, rather than fitting into a single genre. We want survivors to develop their in-game skills alongside their character’s progression.
Our overall goal is to create a game that is easy to pick up yet deeply immersive, allowing players of all skill levels to enjoy the experience.

[h3]Q9. Are there any plans to further improve the game assets and immersion?[/h3]
A9. With cross-play support, our top priority is ensuring seamless visuals across both PC and Mobile platforms.
To enhance immersion, our art team is continuously refining the game's environments for greater realism. This includes implementing natural shadows and adjusting color temperatures based on weather changes, improving light reflection on materials, and enhancing environmental effects like dust, fog, and dynamic background elements.
We hope to create a visually immersive world that feels alive, no matter which platform you play on.

[h3]Q10. Is the Military Tank going to be obtainable? What other vehicles will we have access to?[/h3]
A10. While there are no tank-type vehicles planned at the moment, we're always considering how to introduce a variety of vehicles that suit the new regions, environments, and concepts in future updates.
In addition to standard vehicles, we're working on unique concept vehicles, such as off-road cars built for racing down the hills of Sand Creek and sports cars that will be challenging to drive in the apocalypse.

- Fixed an issue where reconnecting during certain quests could cause the game to fail to load properly.
- Fixed a bug in the "Resident Management" quest where the tutorial HUD appeared twice.

- Fixed a display issue where community affinity bonuses were not properly wrapped in the location info menu.
- Fixed a text cutoff issue in the quest details UI.
