A Shmup Update for a Shmup Sale Event!

Hey everyone! Happy Shmup Fest! I decided to throw together an update with a little something for everyone. Also Cavity Busters is 25% off! But before that I wanted to share and point ya'll to a new community guide that is a huge help to beginners and completionists alike who want to sink their teeth into the game ;)

So on to the update :)

Fixes:
  • certain shard enemies bullets will now go through obstacles is the enemy on top of obstacle when firing
  • made a few tweaks to the tutorial as well as tool tips
  • fixed a bug when rolling into a polump that cause to player to imediately jump down
  • gummys jumpshot does slightly more damage
  • tooth gummy now properly does damage when firing from a jump.
  • denture gummys charge shot does slightly more damage
  • updated the symbols in [redacted] boss room
  • added a few lines of text to So-so
  • added some button prompts to the tuumor garden
  • added new entry to the manual
  • lowered the sound of a few sound fx


Whats New:
A whole new gummy! This gummy is shmup themed. It is similar to Filling Gummy but runs are intended to be a bit faster paced with this gummy. It's a pretty fun gummy! Along with this gummy is new upgrade. If you've been playing for awhile you'll likely start the game with this new gummy unlocked. Gummy gummy gummy!

This update was kinda last minute so expect a followup with balances and tweaks. Be sure to leave a little review for Cavity Busters if you're having a good time!

Cavity Busters Update 35 patch 23

Hey all! Another small update.

-fixed some spelling errors
-I fixed a bug with eggs and monster juice, where if you didn't have enough goop you couldn't receive the upgrade spawned by eggs
-added a performance option (more on that below)

The performance option replaces the vsync option. It now contains a few methods for adjusting performance. So if you've had issues in the past with slow downs, this maaaaay be a solution. No guarantees.

Cavity Busters Update 35 patch 22

Hey everyone! I have just a small update :)

  • fixed a soft lock in the tutorial where you could get stuck in a room.
  • adjusted how reviving works. Now you'll be revived with full health, enemy bullets will be destroyed, and you wont be able to take damage a few seconds after being revived.
  • changed some text to be different depending on what gummy you are.

Cavity Buster Update 35 patch 20

Hello everyone! I have another small patch. Just a little fella.

  • added a mouse lock option to the controls menu. Mouse lock was on by default before but now you can toggle it now.
  • when the game is not full screened, you can move the window around (edit: this didn't get into the build, but coming soon!)
  • a small gameplay tweak: upgrades that fire off when you jump, now also fire off when jumping off an enemy

Cavity Busters Update 35 patch 19

Hey all! Another small patch.

This fixes maaainly visual glitches but does address a few other oddities.

  • gob now properly chomps down when player lands under from a jump/teleport
  • item pick ups should no longer go outside of the room
  • fixed a bug where tooth gummy could spam outside a room
  • fixed a crash with wall zits


There should be a performance boost as well. This will probably only be noticeable if you have lower end machine. You'll have let me know if you notice anything :) Until next time! Enjoy!
