My favorite city builder of 2022 just got a major update




It still feels a bit strange that Crate Entertainment followed up 2016 dark fantasy ARPG Grim Dawn with… a medieval city builder. But once you start playing Farthest Frontier, the wild shift in genres doesn't seem that odd at all, especially since keeping your citizens alive and healthy through winter storms, raider invasions, bear attacks, and more communicable diseases than a medical journal can be brutally challenging...

Farthest Frontier v0.8.0 is now live

We are pleased to announce that v0.8.0, Farthest Frontier's first major update, is now live!

This is a massive addition to the game, with an extensive list of new buildings, features, quality of life improvements, and bug fixes.

Some of the highlights:
  • Production Limits can now be set from within the Resource Window and/or from building windows.
  • Many of the game's systems and windows have been updated with tutorials.
  • Beautify your towns with a series of all new decorative and entertainment buildings! Enjoy Festival Poles, Ornamental Trees, Flower Urns, Bench Plazas, new Fence types and more!
  • Houses now have a detailed Desirability bar that shows progress towards housing tiers.
  • Villager AI has received numerous upgrades that will make them more efficient and intelligent at performing their tasks while also reducing frustrating instances of them stopping mid-task or dropping items all over town.
  • Building Windows now feature a new button to mark a building for top priority repairs.

The State of Early Access - Update #02

We are glad to see so many of you have enjoyed Farthest Frontier already. Your reception and support have been phenomenal and we thank you all for being with us on this journey so far!



Over the past two months, we have released 4 updates and respective hotfixes aimed at addressing the most pressing issues preventing you from having an enjoyable experience. Needless to say, we are just getting started!

Now you might be looking forward to v0.7.7, but who needs that when we are going straight to v0.8.0! Yes, our next update is going to be a big one. Today we wish to shed some light on what is in store for you!

If you have not had a chance to read our first State of Early Access, we recommend you check it out, as it not only reflects on some of what we have added already, but on what is still to come.

We’d like to preface this preview by making it clear that this update is still very much a work in progress, and what you see can and will change. This preview is also not all-encompassing. There is a good chance we will sneak more changes in as we go. With that out of the way,

Farthest Frontier v0.7.6 is now live

Pleased to report that our latest update, v0.7.6, has just gone live!

This update was focused on addressing a number of issues that were detrimental to your experience in Farthest Frontier, but also includes some tuning, quality of life features, and optimization of some game elements.
